On Friday, September 23rd, I paid ***** Enloe, of Enloe Exteriors, LLC, and a lady named ***** (he said it's his wife, it's not, just fianc apparently) $3800 to take down an old privacy fence and build a new one at my home. Since then, we've had numerous start dates, but never a start. I told him I wanted a refund, but he said that he's already purchased the lumber (I have no proof of that). He has given excuses of phone broken, getting behind on other jobs, health issues, etc. as to why he cannot get this done. I am seeking a refund of the money, or a delivery of the lumber w/ a refund fort he remainder of the balance.Initial Complaint

This company installed a screen door on our home and we were happy with his workmanship, we then decided to have him replace 2 windows as well. The owner stated that we would have to pay for the windows in advance, so we gave him $600.00 over 7 months ago and we still do not have our windows, and the company will not contact us or return our calls.Business response

I hired ***** Enloe to complete an addition on to my daughters house because I am going through cancer treatments and need to move in with her. I have paid him $42,500 so far and he has not done hardly any work. He has torn up my daughters back yard and left it. According to the contract he was to start in the beginning of February. Myself and my daughter are always asking him if he is going to do any work for the week. He says he is and then shows up hours late or not at all. The ground is a mess and is not even close to prepared for the foundation at this time and it is over a month into the contract. He said the entire project would take him 3 months and we are on the 2nd month. I am sick and need a resolution to this issue. He has worked about 20 hours total on the project. He says that all the money went to deposits on material but refuses to provide any paperwork showing that. He rented a tractor, used it for a few hours on Presidents Day, then let it sit on my daughters property for 7 days unused during winter weather and is charging me for that also because the rental company is charging him for not bringing it back. My daughter and myself have dozens of text messages showing that he has not been showing up and completing any work.Initial Complaint

September 2021 I signed a contract with ***** *****, owner of Enloe Exteriors for exterior repairs on my home. I was given 3 estimates for the materials needed. I approved the estimates and had 3 separate checks made out to the companies that the materials were to be purchased from. The 3 materials checks totaled $19,271.02. When the deliveries came, I only received $9,192.49 of materials. I asked him if more deliveries were coming and he said no. After a month, there still wasn't any work started on my house or any explanation of where the remaining $10,078.53 went, I started looking into things on my own. I found that ***** had changed the order he turned in at **** ***** and only ordered some of the agreed upon materials. He also made several in-store purchases (not for my home) under my order number with my check. I have an itemized list of all things he purchased, ordered, and returned for cash. I also paid for 2 estimates agreed upon at Arrowhead Supply. Again, the orders were changed and Arrowhead issued an overpayment check to ***** for $7,353.60. When I realized what was happening, I fired ***** ***** in writing on 9/15/21 and gave misuse of funds for the reason of contract cancellation. I'm requesting that $10,078.53 be returned to me. I have spoken with ***** ***** and he said the money was his to do what he pleased with, but then later stated that he already knew how much he would have to pay me. ***** also said that he has the gutters for our house. I'll accept the gutters and have a fair purchase price deducted from the total amount owed. ***** has repeatedly asked to let him come do the work on my home, but I've already had to hire another contractor and all the home repairs are already completed except the gutters being installed. I do not wish to have ***** ***** or anyone from Enloe Exteriors install the gutters. I have also filed a complaint with the MO Attorney General and am awaiting a response from ***** Enloe.Initial Complaint

In July 2021, I met with James Enloe of Enloe Exteriors to get a bid on laying a 12x18 concrete pad in my backyard. He assured & promised to accommodate the timing I was needing for the contracted price of $2400, to which I agreed. The problems started immediately. Either no one showed to work when he said someone would or work was delayed for one reason or another. There was no communication initiated by him on these occasions; I had to contact him with inquiries & was given one excuse after another. He made numerous contradictory statements/excuses. This created more & more distrust for his business practices & intentions. I suggested concluding our business arrangement very early in the process because of my misgivings, but he reassured/made more promises & I gave him the benefit of the doubt. In the end, he walked off the job...taking my mostly unused $1600 with him...& then proceeded to send unprofessional text tirades, filled with threats, obscenities, & calling me vile names.Customer response
