This is my CPA. I recently found out that they never filed my 2020 taxes. They were also late in filing my 2021 taxes and I have to pay a large late fee. I have the prepared documents they completed, they just didn't file the paperwork with the IRS. The late fees for 2021 are over $400. Fees have not been totaled for 2020 since the taxes have still not been filed. I also paid $95 each year for the taxes to be done. I have contacted the CPA and I am waiting for a response.Business response

Hello, I am very surprised by this complaint. I have been working with *** for over 10 years. I got a message he called yesterday and after my scheduled appointments were completed I was planning to call. I saw this message from the BBB and wanted to gather some things before responding.
I am contacting the customer as well. I am waiting to see if I can get a picture from the bank of the check for the 2021 Tax prep fee. The fee was $75.00. The first one shows the date we received his 2021 W-2. We got the W-2 on June 13th. The deadline to file taxes on time was 4/17/2022 this year. They picked up the return on July 14th. His wife brought in the singed documents that allow us to file the return. She left a check and I am still trying to get a copy of that. I was out of town at a Medical appointment so my assistant helped when she came in. She gave her the 2021 documents along with another folder which had the 2020 return that *** never came in and signed to file. He also did not pay the tax prep fee.
He did not have the 2020 paperwork prior to that. This is because he never came in to get it. The last attachment shows the times logged in and I have detailed notes of where messages were left to pick up the previous return.
The 2021 acceptance attachment does show is was accepted on 9/5/2022. I do apologize for that time delay. I will figure out the time from July 14th through September 5th for any penalties and interest that would have accrued during that time and make the payment directly to the IRS and send them a receipt.
The fee for his 2020 return was $75 as well, not $95.00. We have charged him that in the past with his previous filing Joint returns from 2012 through 2018. I will send them a certified letter stating all of these things.
I apologize the 2021 wasn't uploaded right away and delayed the filing even further for 2021 and I will make that right. His late filing would have assessed a filing late penalty regardless after 4-17-2022 and that is nothing I could have possibly prevented.
I wish we could have spoken before he decided to make this complaint. I have been doing taxes for 36 years and never had anyone file a complaint. This is new to me, so if there is anything else I can provide, please let me know. Thank you for your time, ******.
