** Jan 18, 2024, I contacted Mike's Fencing and Handyman LLC via text at ************ for an estimate for drywall repair in my home. I was quoted $200 for the repair which required a 30% ($60.00 deposit) for material costs. *** work was scheduled for Monday 22, Jan. *** contractor canceled the appointment for Monday 22, Jan due to inclement weather and rescheduled for Tuesday, 23 Jan. *** contractor failed to appear on Tuesday, 23 Jan, so we rescheduled for Wednesday, 24 Jan. ***** the contractor failed to appear at the scheduled time of 2:00 PM, I contacted him at 2:16 PM. At 3:37 PM. he responded, stating he had a "family emergency" (but he did not contact me until AFTER I tried to contact him). At that time (Wednesday, 24 Jan, 3:37 PM) I requested a refund. He replied "Okay I'll have the refund sent back to you within 24 hours thank you sir sorry". ** Friday, 26 Jan, I contacted him and told him I still had not received my refund. He then replied, ************ take 3 to 5 business days to get back to your card thru the square app u paid on sir" ** Wednesday, 31 Jan, I contacted him and reported that "I have still not received my $60 refund." He replied, "Let me check my bank when I get off work today if not I'll be bringing that money to you tomorrow". ** Thursday, 2 Feb, I contacted him again" Still not received. Did you submit a refund or not?" He replied "Yes sir ill call bank today when i get off work to see whats going on sir" I told him that was the same answer he gave me the day before. He replied "And if you don't hit today when I call the bank i will have to pay you cash tomorrow". He then showed me a screen capture of what appeared to be a $60 refund from "Square". ** 28 Feb 2024, I contacted **** again via text and showed his the reply from his pay agent Square (second attachment). I offered to meet with him to receive my refund. He replied "Ill contact them". As of this complaint on 3 March 2024, he has yet again failed to respond.Business response
