I called 2 days in advance and scheduled a 1-hour massage. When I arrived on Monday, Feb 21st, I was told I had "called too early and nobody remembered." They had another appointment booked at the same time. The owner asked me to reschedule. I told her it was my day off and I had planned the massage because of that. Then she offered me 30 minutes, which was all the time she had. I accepted, thinking by what she had said that I could come again for my other 30 minutes, I had a gift certificate for a 1-hour massage for $60. I had expected to give a cash tip. When my 30 minutes was up, I was informed that they were keeping my entire gift card and calling it square, since a 30-minute massage was $40, and they were keeping the other $20 for a tip. That really made me mad, because a tip is the customer's option and they had no right to charge me a $20 tip for a 30 minute massage. Plus, since the appointment screw up was their error, they should have given me the 30 minutes for half of the $60 value of the card, and made the tip my optional perogative. So I feel they owe me another half hour massage on the house, no payment, no additional tip. The owner is Chinese and there was some communication problem. I left feeling very unsatisfied but did not want to make a scene since they had another appointment waiting.
