On Friday, June 23rd, we contacted AAA to schedule a tow for our RV for Sunday June 25th due to a issue with my husband's vehicle. We explain that we would be camping until 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. They contracted ****'s towing who said he would be here to pick up our vehicle between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. When ****** arrive my husband received a call at 9:25 a.m. from the tow truck driver who stated that he would need $500 paid up front. My husband explain that we were using AAA ****************** and we were covered. He stated that he charges $250 per hour to tow and we are not charged for mileage. My husband then explain that is great because we are only going 43 mi and it should not take an hour Plus we are covered by AAA up to $500. At that point, the tow truck driver told us that we should call AAA then and hung up on my husband. When I approached my husband he was visibly upset and we called AAA back and explained the situation. They say that they will contact **** and and try to explain the terms to this business. We waited an hour and packed up our RV for the arrival of a tow truck driver and when we called back AAA explained that they had reached out to ****'s towing multiple times and no one was answering the calls. AAA was then able to reach out to another tow truck driver reschedule us. This was a great inconvenience to us because we we're on a tight schedule and I feel like this driver was extorting money from people who were in a desperate situation. This was very unprofessional and was down right wrong.
