In June 2023 I met with ************************* we agreed and signed a contract. He somehow changed the contract we signed which can be proven and he took a lot of money and left me with an unsafe environment for me my children my animals. He was friends with my husband who passed recently so I thought he could be trusted but *** contacted him several times and he refuses to come back unless I give him more money even thought *** already paid ****** and got nothing that I was told I paid for already.Initial Complaint

So the owner of Decks by design, ********************************* so started building a deck for me and about October 2022 and now it is July 2023 and all I have are the footings set in concrete and the frame of the deck cant walk out on it. my retired parents my dad is a veteran, they spent all of their savings to have this deck built, and the gentleman never followed through and now wont answer phone calls. He was supposed to be here to finish the deck in June. Plus he told me in May that he would do it the weekend after the holiday never showed up wont return phone calls and texts and the contract was set up in a three payment process. He got two payments then told me he was short on money and needed me to pay for the lumber to get this finished so I gave him $6000 and never got the third invoice from him but I have a copy of my check and all of my other checks and then he told me I better have his money when he finishes the job and I told him to just get here and finish it and I will pay him but never seen them and he has a couple of reviews that were done after I signed a contract online that he has done this to other people so it looks like a problem happened after I started a project with him so please if you guys can help me and my parents I would really appreciate it so they can enjoy their deck. I dont want this gentleman doing this to other folks and especially retirees and veteransInitial Complaint

The business was contracted July 2022 to dig out and pour a 13x11 concrete pad under my deck. A deposit of more than half was requested to cover materials. The job was expected to be completed in about 8wks due to scheduling. It was more than 8wks before they showed up to start the job. A crew of 2-3 finally showed up to dig out and prep the area. They left trash bags full of dirt and debris in my backyard for months before removing them after multiple attempts to get the area cleaned up and the job completed. Its been almost a year and my concrete pad is not complete. *** tried to contact the business on multiple occasions to get the job completed or provide a refund minus labor for digging out the dirt. Phone calls and texts go unanswered.Customer response
