    We had booked Katie to provide desserts for our wedding on October 15th. She was difficult through the entire process, continually having to ask things that had already been discussed and forgetting about meetings that we had scheduled. We were already frustrated but saw that she had good reviews so were optimistic. Then she tried to literally steal money from us. As it was getting close to the event date, we were curious when our final payment was due. So we did what most people would do and looked at the contract. Per the contract that we signed verbatim "payment of TOTAL AMOUNT DUE, must be received prior to DATE OF EVENT. A late charge of 15% (fifteen percent) of net unpaid balance will be assessed, every 30 days until the balance is paid in full". She does her invoicing through the Square app and apparently when we paid our deposit, it stated the next payment due by 10/5 at the bottom of the payment confirmation screen; a very easy thing to overlook, and again not what was stated in the contract. We received no reminders of a payment being due. We then sent an email on October 7th asking if she needed anything else from us and that we'd be sending over the final payment soon. She responded, without mentioning that, according to her, our payment was late. A couple of days later her assistant sent us an email stating that she had added a 15% late fee to our total as our payment wasn't received by the 5th. When we disputed that she wasn't able to charge us a late fee, per her own contract, she insulted us and said that we could either pay the late fee or we could cancel and forfeit our deposit. Less than a week before our wedding! In my life, I have never dealt with someone this poor at running a business. After, going through some of her other reviews, it appears as though she has pulled this before; adding random fees days before the event and giving the customer no choice but to pay or cancel.
