My husband **** ****** purchased a 2002 used Ford F-350 from him on 5/5/22. We fully understand it was sold as is since it’s a used vehicle, but it stop working 2 days out of there lot! So we got it towed. Josh blond the owner agreed to pick it up and look at it all was good till his mechanic told him he had a bigger problem I guess then told us that we must of pulled something too heavy for the vehicle which was not the case and even if he did we specifically asked for a work truck to pull a trailer. He hasn’t been very responsive to my husbands calls so I emailed him and he emailed me back finally and told me it wasn’t something I could cancel as it was sold as is that his mechanic was going to give him a quote and get back to us to see if we wanted to pay for the repair. And this was a week ago now he is still not answering my emails so my husband hasn’t had a truck for almost three weeks and we have no idea what’s going on only that we have a bill on that truck coming soon and he hasn’t even had a truck all along. I would just like to get some information and have him pay for repairs or give us our money back. And keep the truck. And stop selling innocent people a car that’s not going to work people work hard to earn enough to get a car and he’s ripping people off.

My name is **** with Midstate Auto Group in regard to complaint ********. How this deal
started is **** came to the store with a mechanic friend to check the truck out. Both the mechanic
friend and **** decided that it was a good truck, and he would like to purchase the vehicle. I have an
open-door policy allowing customers to drive the vehicle and/or have a mechanic check the vehicle out.
After all it is a 2002 and has been around for a long time. On top of both of their approval both me and
my mechanic have personally drove the vehicle without issues.
Once **** got his approval, he picked the vehicle up. **** runs a construction company and
hauls extensively heavy equipment around (this type of equipment surpasses the payload capacity of
this truck.) Upon the second day **** had possession of the truck he reported it overheating while he
was hauling. I explained to him I cannot be liable for trucks once they leave because I have no control
over what customers do with the vehicles. The over capacity load could of easily caused the
compression loss that was diagnosed on one of the cylinders on the truck that was no longer starting or
running. This truck started and ran perfectly when it was in our possession. Our mechanic inspected
this vehicle before it was offered for sale and engine compression was not an issue. Something **** did
pushed this vehicle beyond its limits.
In the state of Missouri used vehicles are sold as is and that is thoroughly explained during the
purchasing process. When **** called me with his dilemma, I immediately got the truck picked up and
sent to my mechanic ($380.) When we got the diagnosis from my mechanic, I discussed with ******
that I would help cover the repair costs on a new engine in which I didn’t have any legal obligation to
do so. Repair times have been delayed due to supply chain shortages and my mechanic being booked
      out for weeks.
All and all, ****** and **** knew this vehicle was sold as is and did check the truck out before
the purchase and signed the Federal Buyers Guide.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
And I want to clear the fact that Mr. **** did respond to me I just had a miscommunication with my emails. And clear the fact that we did not haul any heavy materials that surpasses the truck’s capacity.
      Regards,

      ****** *******
