My husband and I bought a car from Strickland auto for $1900 in September on the 28th. The power steering was supposedly under warranty. Part of the power steering we found out is bad. We found this out a few months ago. We called them to replace it. They had not called me back. I drove up there a few times to resolve the problem. They have yet to fix it or call me to tell me they have the part.

We understand it can be frustrating to need a repair after purchasing a vehicle. We did have a warranty on the power steering pump for your vehicle, because we put a new one in. However, as we discussed the power steering pump is not the issue, it is a piece outside of the pump. We did not have any other kind of warranty for this car.  We have offered to fix the issue, but we can not do so for free. Thank you for reaching out here as well as to our shop. Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

they have not fixed anything. I called several times. I will pay for it to be fixed. But I want it fixed correctly.

Thank you for reaching out in regards to this matter. When you purchased the vehicle with us you signed paperwork that we went over with you. One of those papers we went over is called a Buyers Guide. This guide states that there is no warranty on the vehicle or any of its parts. Although this paper was signed by you we still tried to help in any way that we could. For example, when the belt broke on your car we had a mechanic not only fix this part free of charge, we did a service call to your home free of charge. When you started having the issue of the car overheating and you called we let you know that the shop had multiple other cars ahead of yours that needed to be completed first. You still chose to have the vehicle towed to our shop not knowing when we would be able to work on it. You did call us nearly everyday for the first 3 weeks to ask if we had started working on it yet. Once we began to work on the vehicle we noticed that the head bolts were broken off  and a different engine would need put in the vehicle. We communicated this with you as soon as we found out. To try and work with you we gave you the option to give us time to find a used one that would cost any money out of pocket for you. This did take some time because we have to rely on other companies to get these large parts, its not something we could pick up at a local part store. You continued to call us multiple times a week to check the status on the vehicle and to threaten us that your sons would come up to the shop and do something about it if you didn't get your car back soon. We did find a used engine for your vehicle but once it was delivered to the shop we noticed that it was not the correct engine for the model we needed. We did not want to put in the wrong engine so we sent the engine back and called you to let you know what happened. We continued to look for the correct engine after this. You called many more times asking what could be done. We offered a trade for the vehicles on our lot that were valued at the same cost but you stated you that you would rather have a subaru and wait for yours to be finished. We found you a used engine at LKQ for $1,300 and we talked with you about it and you said that you would pay for the engine just so that you didn't have to wait on another one. Then 2 days later you called to let us know that you didn't want us to put the engine in the vehicle, you just wanted it dropped off at your house. When the engine was delivered to us, we loaded it into your vehicle and towed it back to your house free of charge. If there were any parts that didn't go to your vehicle in your car it could have been a simple mistake that the shop hand put it in there accidentally. When we delivered the car back to your house we had you sign another paper stating, quote "Strickland automotive will drop the car and the engine off at the address given. This will end all liability and warranty 2010 subaru impreza and engine. We will not be held liable for the labor or installation of the engine. As verbally stated, by both parties, that the vehicle will be taken care of by ****** *****." You signed this paper in person when we delivered the car and engine to your home. We feel that we went over and beyond our responsibilities to try and help you even though you bought the used car AS IS. We will not be offering a refund of any kind.
