      Since 2017 I have lived in this apartment complex. My rent has been raised 5 maybe 5 times, 3 times in the middle of my lease. This last breach of contract involves a $125 per month increase, in addition to the annual rent increase, and a threat of eviction 5 months into my current lease. I can produce my renter ledger with no missed or late payments from 2017 to date. The threat of ruining my record as a renter, the added cost, and the threat of becoming homeless are causing an unfair burden on me mentally. I am sure this is not the first time this property has participated in this unlawful business practice and taken advantage of a person's fear of becoming homeless.

      Rent for this tenant is same amount through these lease dates:  02/01/2024 to 01/31/2025. Each tenant receives a lease renewal notice 120 days before the new lease begins which shows the new rental amount that will begin the day after the current lease ends. No tenant is forced to renew the lease at the upcoming rental amount. If a tenant disagrees with the amount the landlord is charging they may put in their notice to vacant. Tenant ledger showing late payment is attached 

      1. Rent is payable in monthly installments in advance without notice at the rate of $950.00 per month due on the 1st day of each month. Terminating the lease early does not release the tenant from paying the entire lease term amount. The rent is payable to Westport Crossing Apartments or as Tenant may be advised from time to time in writing.
      NOTICE TO TENANT: ****** further agrees to pay a late fee of $100 if rent is paid after the 5th day of the month. If an eviction is filed there will be a minimum $600 eviction fee charged to the tenant. If Tenant does not pay rent within five (5) days of the due date, Landlord can start to have Tenant evicted and may terminate the Rental Agreement, as this constitutes written notice in a conspicuous language in this written agreement of Landlords intention to terminate and proceed with an eviction.

      The ceiling in master bedroom closet is cracked and damaged. Property manager came in to take pictures as I sat in the car before I was given my keys to the property I rented and moved in on 9-16-2022. As I looked I. The closet. Notice the ceiling wall was down. Next day I went to office to tell her I needed a new mailbox key because the one I had didn’t work and told her about the ceiling. As I stood in the office she told me out her own mouth that she will move me to another apartment when something comes available. I told her then that I wAnt a side by side unit instead of walking in a building and stay above someone or below someone. And if I can have a apartment in Shiloh Illinois where the same comp have properties at. She told me she never told me that. And wanted me to come to office to view camera and listen to the video of her telling me that she will move me. Then she told me if I break lease I had to pay 1200.00 which I told her I wasn’t paying nothing. The property manager ******** is a liar. I also reported syrup was in the kitchen drawer from previous tenant ands that the maintenance guy she had to come clean the apartment before move in didn’t look in drawer and clean well

      We are sorry to hear of this complaint and that she is not happy with her apartment.  We have made all necessary repairs.  We have offered to let her our of her lease if see wishes as we have no other apartments to move her to at this time.

      They only came out to put 2 or 3 screws in the ceiling wall and left. It’s not repaired correctly

      I have just had to worst experience with this apartment complex ( KH Properties )since I moved in one month ago...they’ve lied to me multiple times, they have falsely advertised their apartment to me, told me I would get something other than what I have received. Their pictures on their website is NOT what they give. My apartment that I am in now is certainly no where near what they advertise. When I asked can I get the apartment I was promised they said there were NO APARTMENT CHANGES, I was told by an employee that I would have a renovated apartment and that is not what I got.. The floor is uneven throughout the apartment so bad that doors won’t even open correctly, the shower handles that control the temperature change on their own. It will turn BURNING HOT on its own burning who ever is taking a shower at the time, or it will turn freezing COLD on its own. I’ve asked for a new tub at least and they have been moving very slow on that
