I hired Alexander Exteriors in September 2022 to replace my roof after storm damage, he gave me a bid and I signed a contract to get it done asap! He contacted me and said he was going to be able to get roofing done in a few days but needed a deposit for the supplies so I wrote a check for $5000 9/21/22 and then he called me telling me that he had his workers ready to get the roof done and needed an additional $2500 and I wrote him a check and he signed my contract verifying the checks he received and that there would be a balance when completed for $4500. When the date arrived that he told me he would be doing the roof he never showed up or called me! I tried calling and texting but got no response from him! Then he texted me and told me that he had to change the date and did this 4 times even though I didnt agree to the change and I asked him to refund my money and I would get another contractor to do the roof! Again he would text me he was going get it done asap! Now its November and more damage to my house inside because of the weather damage and i texted him and told him to send me my money and that I was getting another contractor to do the roof! I also sent a certified letter to him and have not received a response! I want my money back in full! Im a single mom of 5, I hired Alexander exteriors to do a roof based on my ****** kids father review as a former employee. He took my money in November knowing I was on a limited time with the insurance company to get the job complete. He kept giving me excuses why the job was delayed until March of 2022. He stopped answering all calls and messages at this point. I have since checked BBB as well as casenet and see multiple others have had similar issues. I now suspect the company had previously gone out of business and he agreed to do a job under false pretenses.Initial Complaint

We paid $4100 to *** as partial down payment for purchase of materials for our roof to be replaced. He never purchased the materials, he never returned our money, and he will not return my calls or texts.
