I had my taxes with this office since late March and early April. I had a special form that needed to be filled out so I wanted to be sure they could do it. They guaranteed me that they were able to. So I paid them over 400 dollars to complete my taxes. I have not heard from them since I left my taxes in their office. The only response I receive is from the *** indicating that my taxes were not submitted. I would not have bothered hiring them if I knew they could not process this type of tax. They are refusing to give me a refund.Business response

Volpe Consulting & Accounting Service prepared and filed a tax return for *************************. We charged ****************** $408.00 on her **************** card for the completion and filing of the return. We also submitted a W7 Form, 'Application for *** Individual Taxpayer Identification Number' on behalf of her husband, attempting to obtain an ITIN for him in order to include him on their tax return. Due to an error in submitting the W7 form, the *** initially rejected the return that we had submitted. We spent quite a bit of time attempting to contact and work with the *** to resolve the issue, and ****************** became increasingly frustrated that it was taking an extended time to resolve her tax status issue with the ***. ****************** was also displeased with our communication regarding the progress or status of the pending issue. She requested a full refund and return of her original paper tax documents.
October 4, 2023, ****************** mother, *************************, visited our office and requested the aforementioned tax documents and a refund for the prep and filing of the tax return we had submitted. As evidenced here per the attachments, we provided ****************** a full refund of our tax filing charges. As we did not charge ****************** to file the W7, there was no reimbursement necessary for this service.
At this time we have provided the customer with a full refund for ******************** performed. As an update and based upon information from ************************* (mother of *****), the tax return prepared and submitted by Volpe Consulting that was originally rejected by the *** was subsequently amended by the *** and processed, resulting in a tax refund to ******************.

Just wanted to provide clarification for service that the client decided to hire us to do and pay for.
The client only hired us to prepare and file her 2022 Personal Tax Returns form 1040. Our office did prepare and file her 2022 tax returns form 1040 both Federal and State. The total fee for this service $400.
The issue with her tax return is 100% related to **7 that our office did not prepare but it must be filed with her 2022 tax returns because her husband did not have an ITIN which is required by the *** in order for the returns to be processed. We offered our service to complete **7 for her but she declined the **7 service to save money. Then she sent us the completed **7 that was done either by herself or someone else but definitely not by our firm in order to submit along with her 2022 tax returns that our office prepared. The client has never been charged to prepare **7 because she declined that service and our office did not prepare the **7 that she needs.

In summary,
Due to her circumstances, the client needs 2 forms to be submitted to the *** in regard to her 2022 Tax returns
1st form is form 1040 - U.S. Individual Income Tax Return. The client accepted the service. Our office prepared the returns. The $400 fee was paid.
2nd form is form W-7 - Application for *** Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. The client declined this service. There was no fee charged to the client on this service. Our office did not prepare W-7. The client sent us a completed W-7 form that was completed on her end for our office to submit it along with 1040 form that we prepared above. The *** rejected her return because of the issues completed on W-7 form that we did not prepare.
