The water for the apartment complex was disconnected today. I reached out to American Water for information and was told Oakmont was behind on their bills. Nobody is in the office and there are no emergency contact information in order to get this fixed. The entire complex is without water.Business response

I**;ve been staying here for 4 years. There was something in the wall that would wake me and my children up due to scratching .I complained to the leasing office that there was something in the wall. They sent maintenance out to look at it. Last year my daughter came down crying saying there was something sticking it**;s hand out of the hole that black and had nails. I went to my room and there was hole over my bed in my room. When maintenance came out they never came back to patch the hole. My heat and AC is not working and I**;ve reported this to them. Now that it is cold I have to warm my house with the oven. I have young children and this is hazardous. The person in the leasing office said they would contact the owner, but no one has come or contacted me about the issue.Business response

Dear Better Business Bureau,I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the ongoing delay in addressing the maintenance work required for the inside of my bathtub at Oakmont Townhomes. Despite numerous attempts to bring this matter to the attention of the management, the necessary repairs have not been carried out, and I am increasingly concerned about the potential consequences for both my property and personal well-being.I initially reported the issue over a month ago, detailing the specific maintenance needs and requesting a resolution. Since then, I have experienced a series of delays and unfulfilled promises from the management team at Oakmont Townhomes. The lack of action on their part has resulted in a prolonged period of inconvenience and discomfort for my family. It is my understanding that maintenance and repair services are essential components of a well-maintained living environment, and I believe that all residents, including myself, have the right to timely and effective solutions to their housing-related concerns. I have upheld my responsibilities as a tenant and expect the management to fulfill their obligations as well.I kindly request the Better Business Bureau's intervention to mediate this matter and encourage Oakmont Townhomes to address the maintenance issue of the tub which is causing my room ceiling to leak. My unit has an inspection scheduled whereas I am concerned that this will not get fixed. As I stated to this tenant when she came into the office to ask about her work open work order, we are short maintenance staff. Do to the maintenance shortage we were not able to get to her tub re-glazing in the time frame that she wanted. We now have the proper staff on hand to address the pealing of her tub so we will be completing this work order.Initial Complaint

This company is renting units that fail state inspection and promising things whilst having people sign leases before confirming the unit is inhabitable, forcing tenants to stay in units or pay fees to break a lease to units that the tenant hasnt even moved into due to inhabitable conditions. Theyre housing tenants with no occupancy permit and neglecting all work orders and property issues.Initial Complaint

I submitted a money order to the company and found out that the owners had changed. They haven't applied the $100 to my account. I have tried calling and I'm getting the run around. They are also telling me that the amount went up that I owe them. Now they are saying it's $500. But the $100 hasn't been applied. No one told me that there is an extra charge for the month to month lease. The relationship with the manager has gotten so bad, not professional, I asked for them to call me before they enter my apartment. They have sent someone into my apartment today without my permission. I asked for someone else to speak with and she said that there was no one else but her. The manager is also promoting her book through amazon through the front office.Business response

My apartment has not fixed any of the issues that I've sent to them to fix. My air condenser was stolen it took over a week to replace and air conditioner is still not working, Apartment went with a contractor to fix air conditioner and while I wasn't home either contractor or maintenance tired to go through my computer, It showed that too many attempts have been made. I feel violated.
