Subject: Complaint Against Contractor ***** ****** I am writing to file a formal complaint against the contractor, ***** ******, regarding incomplete projects that he was hired to complete. Despite several attempts to address the issue, Mr. ****** has failed to complete the work and has been unresponsive to my requests for resolution.Specifically, the project involving the doors and walls remains unfinished, and Mr. ****** has been giving me the runaround for the past week. Despite being paid for the job, he has refused to come back and complete the work as agreed upon. While I understand his argument that the job should be completed before full payment, I have text message documentation proving that he has acknowledged the incomplete work.I initially trusted Mr. ****** based on previous successful projects he completed for me. However, his lack of follow-through on this particular task has left me with no choice but to seek alternative solutions. I am requesting that Mr. ****** either fulfills his commitment to complete the remaining work or reimburses me for the incomplete portion so that I can hire another contractor to finish the walls and doors.I appreciate your attention to this matter and ask for your assistance in resolving this dispute promptly.Sincerely,******** *.

I went to the customers home after we were called to look at door frames that were incorrectly installed and after seeing the door frames it was obvious that the doorway was much larger than the door frame itself. It was a complete mess and I told the customer that we could make it better but it wasnt going to be perfect because the doors she bought were not the right size and we would have to buy all kind of trim to fill the gaps that would be left after we fabricated the door trim which was to match up to the 123 year old trim that was there and I indeed was able to match up the trim and fill the gaps. The work was done in stages, we repaired the wall around the door frames first which the plaster was destroyed by the first contractors and the homeowner. We knocked out the loose plaster and replaced it with new plaster. The customer was very happy with the repair and said it was much better than she expected and she paid us for that work. The second stage was to build the door frames from scratch over the repaired door frames which took us a total of 10 hours and two visits to complete. Once again the customer was happy with the door frame repair and we were paid and left. The third phase to smooth out any area that was not covered by the trim that we did a repair on and not the whole wall or any other area that we did not work and thats whats was done was a mud job to smooth out 1 small section of the bath wall and that was done. I went back to the property twice after I left and got paid to correct issues that the customer noticed after we left. The problem began when every other day the customer seemed to notice something else she wanted fixed. As per our conversation about the trim not being perfect like a door frame straight from the factory, unfortunately this is what the customer started to want even though her door from did not fit the doorways and we went above and beyond to make her current situation look much better since she refused to buy the correct frames and doors for her house so now the customer is attempting to get free work in addition to her being upset that I refused to work on a closet door and a back entry because just like the hall doorways, she had previous contractors work on those as well and they were jacked up as well and she want me to spend an enormous amount of time trying to rig them up for next to nothing in labor cost so I opted out of that work all together so now she has an attitude and my intention is not to offer her ANY KIND of refund for all the work the we have done and the way she is being deceptive making it seem like she gave me money and I never came back is slanderous to say the least. This lady had some kind of mental issues because she text me at least two times a week coming up new issues every time I was contacted of the course of a few months! In addition to the working environment with cigarette and weed smoke!! I have included all the separate Venmo payments that was paid after each separate job that the customer was satisfied with otherwise she wouldnt have paid us and I never asked her for a dime up front all that was paid was after a job COMPLETION!!

***** replaced bathtub and water was leaking from fittings behind wall. Water was leaking from all connectors causing damage to wall that he also replaced. I had tried to contact him with issue and received a couple of rude replies and now I'm being ignored. I paid another contractor to repair leaking fittings $160 and I am going to have to have one wall tore out and replaced. I paid ***** $1300 for tub replacement labor plus $300 for drywall labor. I paid for all materials. I'm looking for refund of the extra labor and materials this is going to cost me. The drywall work wasn't even necessary since the surround was direct to stud tub surround, but contractor didn't even look at materials until after the drywall upsell. $460 is what I'm looking to recover to satisfy my complaint to cover damages to my home and repairs due to shoddy workmanship.. My next coarse of action is to seek remedy via the associate circuit court of St. Charles County Mo

In response to the claimed filed against A.S.

The complainant and I came to an agreement to replace his bath tub, water manifold and tub surround. There were a few issues starting off with this job one being that the older house has a very small crawl space in order to access the drain pipes to connect the tub and the other issue is that all the plumbing in this house is in very bad condition. When started on the job I first took out the old surround which was a one piece tub plus surround which was installed before the bathroom was finished with walls and thats the kind of surround that the homeowners bought not accounting for the already constructed condition that they currently have in the bathroom so it was the incorrect surround to buy. Once the tub surround was completely out I then installed the water manifold and once it was complete, I left the wall open for two days to make sure there were no leaks. After not seeing any leaks in the wall I proceeded to install the drywall in the tub surround area to accommodate the new surround. The customers used the shower two days with the wall exposed and there was no leaks. As I stated before this is a really old house in need of a complete rebuild of the drain pipes and waterlines in the entire house and whatever leak that has occurred could have come from anywhere rather than the area I repaired and no way to tell unless the plumbing is exposed. In addition to that, the surround that was purchased in no way form or fashion would have fit in the bathroom unless I literally took both walls at the front and back of the tub completely down, installed the surround, installed it to the wood studs and then built the walls around the tub and the walls surrounding the tub area so in short they just bought the wrong surround and didn't want to accept that fact. When I first talked to the homeowners about the bathroom I asked for the sku number of the surround to be text to me so that I could do some research on the unit and they never did supply me with that information only a picture of something they though to be similar so I couldnt have known about their mistake until I was there working. When I realized it wouldnt fit, I advised them at the time and asked what they wanted to do and they wanted to find and purchase the correct kind that is supposed to be installed over green board and not to the studs. The customers were very happy with the finish bathroom and paid me without any other discussion. I did received a call back from them about 2 or 3 weeks later stating that they think theres a leak. I asked for him to be more specific about the origin of the leak and he really couldnt express hisself so I then asked for pictures. When a got the pictures I saw a very small wet spot and couldnt really tell what was going on so I advised the homeowner that I would have to come back out to take a look and possibly open up a wall and when I told him that he said okay and I was to let him know when I got back to my office to see what the best time and day for me to return was but I did say that it would be the following week and that was the end of our messaging for a short period. A little later he started texting me again demanding that I stop what I was doing and come asap and I again advised him that I did not have a problem coming back to work out the problem but that wasnt good enough so he started texting me with threatening messages and playing on my phone by calling me multiple times after I told him to give me some time to get back to my office and give him a date. I saw this situation turning into something nasty so I did not respond to anymore of the customers threatening texts or calls. I won't be offering the homeowners a refund. I did the work we agreed on, left their wall open for two days and no leaks were found and in addition to that, the pre condition of the very old pipes. of all the old pipes in the house theres no telling where the leak came from.

Once again, I was willing to go back to the customers house but he was impatient and becoming very nasty.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The business never returned my calls or messages to get back and fix his mistakes. It was over a week. That is unacceptable.  I got someone else out t fix it.  The surround didn't fit because it is direct to stud like the old one and ***** insisted the wall needed drywall. That made it not fit, which cost me even more in material to purchase a glue to wall surround for contractor to install. The fact of the matter is that my text messages were not rude, and I was never able to reach individual by phone.  This business does not honor its work due to faulty install. For shame!

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******

Once again the homeowner did not give me an opportunity to fix anything! After I advised him that if he would give me time to make it home to look at my appointment book to give him an exact time and day when I could return to his home and he didn’t like that I had the nerve to tell him that he was being unreasonable wanting and expecting me to stop what I was doing at that very moment and come to his house after being done with this job for about two weeks. In this two week period, and no contact from the homeowner it appeared that if it was that urgent that I would have heard from them before then. Furthermore, the fact that the homeowner sent me threatening  messages was the final straw for me. I have text messages proving my case both of threatening messages and that I offered to return to his home to address any issue even if it was something leaking I had nothing to do with. With that being said, I will not being offering the customer a refund..
