I purchased a car on Apr 1, the engine light came on Apr 2, and on Apr 3 I took the car to the car repair place he told me to take it to, I was told it was on emission problem and they turned the light off. On Apr 4, the light came back on again as well as the tire pressure light so I brought it back on Apr 4 and he set Apr 24 to repair the emission. Between Apr 4 and Apr 17, I invested $1200 in the car. So on Apr 17, I get in the car and the car doesn't sound right so I drove it directly to the repair shop. I was told it was a spark plug then told the whole engine was no good and needed to be replaced. I have a 3 month warranty, so they are trying to see if it is under the warranty. I have not received a call regarding this. The dealer said he would take care of cost. I just want my money back. The car is not registered. This is a problem car. I asked him last night, Apr 18, would he give me my money back and he said no. He said it had to be repaired under my warranty. He is looking for a car for me or rent a car which to me means it's going to take a long time. I asked him to give me the $8000 back after the car is repaired and something towards the $1200 I put in the car.

In response to ***** ****** claim #********, I have no proof of the timeline she stated in the series of events.  I sold the car to her with no charge for the warranty.  I do this with all my vehicles to insure buyers from unforeseen issues.  I also do not charge customers for paperwork involved in the sales. The state of Missouri says I'm allowed to charge up to $300. per sale.  I don't charge anything.  I told ***** she has car rental on her warranty.  She chose not to use it.  I told her then to use the rental on her car insurance but she said it would make her rates go up.  I told her that was not true.  She chose not to believe me.  Since Covid the wheels of life turn very slowly.  Her warranty claim has been approved and work on her car is in progress.  Her car will have all repairs completed as per the warranty.  I am not obligated to return her money but I am obligated to repair her car.

I have been in business for 14 years and never had a complaint with the BBB.  The warranty company's name is *******, which is one of the better companies.  As for the $1,200 she spent in the car, the engine repair does not cover the back-up camera and other expenses not related to the mechanical function of the car.

Sorry for the response delay but I was out of town until Saturday, April 29, 2023

I just want to say that my vehicle has been in the shop since 4/17/23, and the warranty claim has not yet been approved as of 5/02/23, and no work has been done to my vehicle. I did not rent a car because the claim has not yet been approved, and once approved, they will only reimburse me $25 per 8 hours of labor done to the car. So, it will take about 27 hours for the repairs to be made, once authorized by the warranty company, this ,about $$75 to $100 towards the cost of a rental. Also, I contacted my car  insurance company and was told that the car rental can only be used for collision or comprehensive purposes, not for general car repairs.

So, as of 5/02/23, the warranty company has not yet approved/authorized any repairs to my car, thus, no work has been done to my car. His statement that "the warranty claim has been approved and work on her car is in progress", is incorrect, as of 5/02/23.
