** came to my home to do some electrical work 2/6/23 In which we had a contract and estimate. He claimed to be licensed and a retired union electrician. This included: Finding a bad neurtal wire in my attic wiring a 3 way switch to my basement stairs and installing a light, 2 outside lights, wiring and installing a door bell, installing ceiling boxes, 3 pendant lights, and 3 way switch with dimmer.He and his brother ****** were supposed to be there 1 day. they ended up being there 6. This was ok with me as long as the work was completed in a proper way to code. I got an estimate very straighly written from ** for a little under $2000. I agreed to his estimate. He was to get all of the lights working in my ceiling One of the recessed lights did not work when he was done. I was not concerned about this as I was planning to hire him to do additional work and he would come back and fix it at that time. I did not check the rest of his work before he left as he gave me the impression that he was very competent at what he was doing. He left the light switch cover and switch hanging at least 3/4" off of the wall in my bathroom next to my sink. I found this extremely dangerous as I would be able to stick my finger behind it and touch live electric and its proximity to running water. The 3 way switch to my pendants lights only work when both switches are turned on. He wired the light in my basement to the wrong circuit, it also only works when both switches are on and did not wire the light at the landing of my stairs as agreed. He claimed for one of the outside lights that there was no constant power to the box in where the switch was already wired. Under my further investigation there was constant power to this box the whole time. Rather than ** checking this more closely he ran conduit through my brick and into my attic requiring him to remove brick and having ugly conduit hanging out of my house.Prior to me realizing how bad his work was at my house, I asked ** to come to my carwash business to diagnose a few issues. He did properly replace a faulty GFCI. He came and diagnosed an issue with a photocell. He disconnected it broke the conduit running to it. He was to come back the next day and repair it . He never returned. We are still without partial power at my business.He has been promising for several week to come back to my house to fix the bad work he did. He does not respond most of the time. When he does he makes appointments that he breaks. He has taken me away from my busy schedule several full days waiting for him to show when he promised. He would give wide open appointments that would take my entire day then never show or answer texts or phone calls. I do not want ** coming back to my property as I smelled alcohol on him at one time and came home to the smell of marijuana another. I have no problem with either of those things but not when someone is supposed to be acting in a professional capacity working on crucial systems in my home or business. My final draw with ** was when a day after a another no show to fix the issues he had caused his response was that he was busy and any thing i say to him "dont do anything but **** me off. I will get there when I can.If this is not resolved I will be filing a complaint with his licensing in Cape **************. As it turns out he is not licensed with the ***************** or ********* county where my home and business are located that he performed work. As Well, I will be filling suit to recover the nearly $2000 he was paid and the cost to remedy his improper work
