I hired the company to move my furniture as we had moved everything else. The movers were nice but did damage 3 pieces of furniture and 2 walls. I refused to pay without getting something in writing saying the company would cover the damages. I was supposed to get a call the first thing in the morning, but didn't receive one until 1:23 pm. The gentleman who I believe said his name was *** apologized but quickly said I needed to make my payment before they would deal with the damages.I explained to him that I was not paying anything until I had something stating they would cover the damages. He began to demand payment while cursing and calling me ignorant. He wanted to talk over me and continued to tell me I had to pay. He proceeded to tell me that he was going to call the police and have me arrested for theft of service. I advised him to go right ahead because I definitely wasn't paying without proof because his behavior made me feel like I would be left holding the bag.He hung up and called back 3 times still being rude, unprofessional and disrespectful to me. I called a friend to see if he could have a sensible conversation with him. He proceeded to ask questions that had nothing to do with the issue at hand. I finally told him to take legal action and a judge could handle it. Fast forward to me sending pictures and requesting an estimate of the cost to replace and or repair the items. I asked for a letter on their letterhead with a wet signature stating they would cover the cost then I would make the payment. They refused to let the company come out to give an estimate without payment. Their only concern is the payment and not the damages caused by their staff. Since we cannot agree I have requested again that they file a civil lawsuit so a judge can make a decision that is fair and legally binding. They proceeded to tell me I would not win and my damages weren't worth anything. They clearly didn't understand it's about a fair outcome.
