Dear Representative Better Business Bureau:
We are responding to your letter dated February 22, 2024 in reference to the above
listed complaint.
Management has thoroughly reviewed the situation that occurred with Ms. ********
when she applied for a loan with St. Louis Loan.
Unfortunately since the situation involves a sensitive financial transaction we are
not able to give specific details however, after reviewing the situation, management
is confident that the staff made an adequate effort to underwrite the requested loan.
There are specific requirements that must be met in order to qualify for a loan. In
this situation, there were certain requirements that were not met. If Ms. ********
has specific questions about the circumstances she can reach out the area manager,

I went into this location a couple of weeks ago. I inquired about a loan. I didn't fill out any paperwork. I gave her my check stubs, bank account statements, bank account info and driver's license and she made copies. She told me she didn't think you would be approved. I requested my personal information back and she refused to give it back. Then I found that she ran my credit without my authorization. Now I have a ding on my credit from them. I contacted them about it and no one contacted me back.Business response

To Whom It May Concern;
St Louis Loans has reviewed the circumstances of the above referenced complaint. After review, it was determined that Mr. ******* visited the location to obtain a loan. Mr. ******* provided the location employee with the documents required to apply for a loan. After reviewing the documents provided the location employee informed Mr. ******* that we would not be able to provide a loan based on required criteria that was not met with the documents provided. Under both state and federal law, as a financial service provider, St Louis Loan is required to retain documentation that is used as part of a loan request. St. Louis Loans strictly follows all requirements to ensure that all customer documents are kept secure and confidential. Further, it has been verified that St Louis Loan did not obtain a credit report on Mr. ******* from ********** during this transaction. On June 29, 2022, the area manager for this location spoke with Mr. ******* about this situation and attempted to explain the requirements for document retention.
