I lived in Hickory Trace Apartment For 2 years and its been the most unpleasant and uncomfortable stay I have ever lived in. They are ***** INFESTED, No lights on the outside of the building ( which is dangerous for women with children) , the maintenance mans doesnt do any but sweep the hallways but never tend to the work order. They whole 2 years of my stay I asked for a new door and for the whole 2 years I was told it was on back order just to find out last week that the door was never ordered. My AC have not been working at all .. Oh and did I mention ***** INFESTED .. I can count on one had how many times they came out and sprayed my whole stay there. I never had company because I was so embarrassed of the roaches. These apartments need to be knocked down or and rebuilt.

******************,We appreciate you making Hickory Trace your home. We perform pest control on each apartment every quarter, unless the resident refuses to let us in. If you have only had pest treated a few times, it would be because you and/or your guests refused the pest control person to enter or the locks were changed and you did not provide us with a key, otherwise all units are treated every quarter. The person sweeping the halls only does the janitorial work and does not perform repair work. This is completed by a vendor or our maintenance staff after a work order is received in the office. I checked our notes regarding your broken door and you have refused to pay for the door in the past. I talked to you last week when you let me know you were moving out by the end of June about the door and you stated it is secure. I let you know then you are responsible for the cost of the damaged door. You reported youre a/c was broken on 6/8/22 and we had to order a fan motor for the a/c and it was repaired on 6/11/22. If there are more issues with youre a/c, please call the office to place a work order to have it repaired. If there is anything else you need, please do not hesitate to call the office.

I would give negative stars if possible. I lived in a ROACH INFESTED basement unit at ******** and after numerous attempts to contact the main office, the maintenance man (who was a total pervert who cat called me a few times) came by ONCE to spray the kitchen. Obviously it did not fix the problem, I think the roaches were coming out of the pipes. About half way through my lease, a Peeping Tom started to visit my bedroom window multiple times a week. Cops could never catch him since he would be gone before they got there. Called the office to see if there was any way they could move us into a different building but my request was denied. I worked until 2am and feared coming home every night. To top it all off the neighbor either directly above us or on the 3rd floor would empty their bathroom trash out over their balcony and would end up on our patio. Multiple car break ins happened in my short time there. Even seen a heroin needle in the parking lot. Hallways smelled like cigarette smoke and mildew. After multiple attempts the office did NOTHING to help me and my living conditions, I vacated the apartment. They placed my account in collections and offered to knock of 10% if I wanted to settle. A measly 10% !? Kohner properties is a joke. I’m truly DISGUSTED with how my requests were handled. Stay far away, DO NOT give them a dime!!!

************************* and her roommate lived at Oakbrook Apartments from 3/29/2019 to 9/30/2019 with a lease from 3/29/2019 to 3/31/2020. They vacated on 9/30/2019 because they informed us in September they could no longer afford the rent after paying a portion of the September rent and turned in the keys to their apartment and are responsible for the remainder of their lease or until the apartment is re-rented. Oakbrook did not receive reports of the roaches, staff issues, peeping ***, or of a neighbor empyting trash on their balcony. Transfer requests are reviewed after the initial lease is completed, a good rental history, and based on availability.
