On May 4, 2022, I agreed to a Sales Agreement for Services with Solar city STL to install solar panels on my two-family home. Since that time, I received a cost/estimate of $18,000 to install the panels which was projected to result in an annual savings of $86 on my electricity ****. I secured financing and emailed the company my financing pre-approval as requested. Since that date in May, there has been very little communication to me from any representative of Solar city STL. I have inquired as to how the federal/local incentives and cost offsets would be received by me and have received no response. Today, June 23, 2022, I drove the 30 miles to the company address and found that *********************************************************************************************, is actually a forklift services business. I inquired to make sure I had the correct address and it was confirmed that the address given to me by Solar city STL is in fact a different company altogether. The other business that shares that building is listed as ****************************************** and is a Mail Order Warehouse. No one at either business stated any knowledge of Solar city STL. I have asked my state's Attorney General to investigate this business for suspicion of fraud. I left a voice message on the company's answering machine. As of today, no one has been to my home. No installation have even been projected. My financing had a time limit for closing which has now expired, so I no longer have financing for the project. I am sending a Cease and Desist letter to the company today.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: while I was reading the response from the business I received a text message from the sales representative of the company. The text stated that the company will void the contract but only on the condition that I retract my BBB complaint first. I feel that this amounts to extortion and contradicts the company's response. Additionally, the company has accused me of slander for the details of my complaint and is now threatening legal action against me. Therefore, if the company's response to the BBB is accurate and the company will void the contract within 7 days, then it is acceptable. However, if the company is resorting to extortion and threats, then I do not accept that response.
