I purchased a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu on March 7th 2025. The next day the check engine came on. Then the battery light came on now the belt is slipping when driving. This car is a LEMON! I understand that they dont hold in responsibility to the vehicle hints the wording in the finance agreement. I accept that part. What I dont expect is for me to have put down 3500 on a car that starts showing issues the following day.Business Response

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because: I was told I should have checked things out before I left the lot. Which was bogus seeing how quickly she took my money and drew up finance papers within ***** minutes. I didnt experience any issues on the short test drive I took. The only thing I didnt do was check the air and thats my fault but it was chilly still so I wasnt thinking it was busted. Since filling my complaint Ive taken it to the Midas and the repair needed is crucial and it cost 1200! Now I have them 3500 and still owe 400 over the next 2 weeks. This is beyond insane! Ive contacted the attorney general and the news fyi. The reason is simple, I was taken! I am not even able to drive the car I spent my hard earned money to buy. I was told that at any time my control of the vehicle could be compromised in different ways because my serpentine belt is slipping!

Battery light keeps going on and off the shop says its probably the alternator or the battery. It could be electrical with there being a recall on the car for electrical issues, powering steering is knocking I dont know if its the ball joints or tire rod ends. I recently reached out to youll regarding the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu I purchased on 3/7 from ***-K. I spoke of the faulty issues with the vehicle. I have since then been aware of more issues. Electrical the battery light keeps popping on and off probably due to the recall on the vehicle. The air conditioner/ heating system is faulty also mentioned on the recall. The steering is knocking due to bad tire rod ends and or ball joints. I feel like when I reached out to youll before I was dismissed because I couldnt properly explain myself. Bought a ******************* June and the first night of purchasing the vehicle it stopped and the car has been parked at my house since. Two fuels pumps were replaced, the battery, the oil change, the coolant reservoir, the alternator, nothing makes the vehicle work. Its a nightmare. I purchase the car on October 2, 2024. I purchase 2013 Chrysler 200. I purchase this care AS-IS. I drove the car for weeks and on October 13, 2024 and radiator and hose fell off and my car start running hot. The car completely stop on Q-Trip lot. I had to get my own tow truck at at cost of $150 to pickup my car when Joe**;s Carmart was to pickup my car without cost.. I tried to reach *****-Manager but he was out sick. I was told that it would cost me $5000 to get a new engine. I had given this dealership $2000.00. and I had promise note bring back $200 in two weeks. However, the car stop running. I purchased a car from Joe-K Used Cars. I purchased the car $7500 in February 2022. I paid all but $275 of that purchase price. I ended up in the hospital for four months, and I was unable to make payments on the car. I lost my job due to the hospital stay. ******** had it towed to their lot. I explained the situation, but they are not willing to work with me. I have never late on a payment before my hospital stay. With late fees the amount is now $380. I paid them another $150 for the car. They told me I had 10 days to pay the rest plus their own towing charges of $180, or they will resell the car. I want them to work something out so I can make payments given my situation.Business Response

To Whom It May **************************************************** was in active repossession for lack of payments when we were notified that his car was impounded in the tow yard. We had to pay the tow yard to retrieve the vehicle. We then required ************ to pay the fees that we had to pay to the towyard plus his past due balance. We were well within our rights and we were very fair with him.
He did come in today, 2/16/2024 to settle this matter.

If you are buying your first car go to these people. You will learn what not to do. Learn a life ****** to never repeat. These people sell c*** cars. Don't believe anything they say they lie. They will promise they will make it right make you happy but it's not true. They falsify inspections they use their own mechanic place so they can do this. I bought a car from here had one of there old mechanics look at it transmition shot( fluid was dark almost black brown), right blinker light out, leaking antifreeze, brakes need to be done, front steering is messed up you hit a divett in road and waiting for tire to fall off it slides then you feel the two front tires like rock ,tire had s**** in it, puke EVERYWHERE! and no ****** it's not soda I know you didn't spend an hour trying to clean it so shut up and don't even say it's soda again. Oh and the car was stolen they jammed something in the ignition when car is in gear you can just pull key out which ****** hid quite well when he insisted on starting it for me. Didn't have title for it still don't. Paneling is falling off through out the car with sharp metal sticking out definitely not safe for any of my 6 kids to be in this death trap. Said theyd switch it out but then they will only do trade in and take 500 off so now I'm upside down somehow. They give you the run around on who owns it whose manager. Their own employee told me it was ONLY supposed to be sold for parts. DO NOT buy from these scammers and liars.Customer Answer

I've tried to get a hold of the main sales man but they give me the runaround that he's not in the office. So I ask for next in charge cuz they will also say he's sick and then at **** in afternoon when they close not until 7pm they will say he's gone for the day. I did allow them to make repairs to the car before I signed my contract. I was told the oil leak was fixed at Fair Repair STL and fair repair told me that they made no repairs to the Ford Edge until after I received the car. After only having the car for three days the sun roof began to leak causing an electrical issue making all the lights inside the car stay on. The day I took the car for them to fix the light is when I notified them about the oil leak. They were not notified of the leak before that day and told me I would have to bring the car back another day for them to fix it because they were too bagged up. It is illegal for me to drive a car with the inside lights so I had no choice but to take the car to be fixed. Theres no way this car has passed LEGAL safety and emissions with all these different issues it has. This is costing my livelihood because you are selling cars and not giving a full description of all the issues with the vehicle. I was given a passed safety and emissions test for the FORD EDGE while the check engine light has been on since the day I bought the car. The engine is still smoking and it is not safe for me to drive this car. Regarding the 2010 Toyota Avalon, when I spoke with ****** about the transmission going out he assured me he would be able to assist me with getting another vehicle. I came to ***ks for 4 days for them to tell me they still couldn’t help and also wanted me to pay more money to get another car since they claim they didn’t have any in my price range from what I originally gave them for the down payment. Attached to this letter you will see that I did not receive my Ford edge until 11/16/2023. I purchased the Toyota Avalon on 11/8/2023. They were notified the next day 11/9/23 that the transmission was slipping so I had to take off work to go to Fair Repair STL where they confirmed the transmission was bad after I had it looked at. Also the seatbelts in the backseat were broken, the heat did not work and three of the windows were broken. That day ****** told me they would be able to put me in another vehicle. I also took the car to Fair Repair STL where they confirmed the transmission was bad. They were closed Sunday so that Monday , which is 11/11/23 I went *** Ks to test drive a few different cars in my price range which took all day. I also took off work this day as well. Once I found a car, ****** told me that he had to speak to *** before he can get me in another vehicle. That day I notified ****** that the FORD EDGE was smoking when I test drove it. He assured me that he would take the car to the shop so it will be fixed before end of day 11/12/23. So the next day, this will now be 11/12/23 I was told by ****** that the car was not ready and I can put more money down to get another car if I wanted to come that same day. After I told him I didn’t have any more money he assured again that the car would need to be fixed since at this point they still were not going to give me my money back. I did not receive FORD EDGE until 11/16/23. I was told to drive the Toyota until they could get it fixed although they were aware the dangers of driving with a failing transmission. I am still requesting a FULL REFUND of my down payment as well as the payments I had made on the car since I have had it. Today is 12/14/23 and the car is still smoking now to the point that it is coming out of the vents on the inside of the car and the sunroof is still leaking which is still causing an electrical issue. Also the check engine light is still on. ****** told me it could have been from them putting bad gas in the car although we have made it obvious there is motor issue that would cause that. I was given a false inspection and emission test due these issues all being before I had the car. Also both cars have been put on my credit report. The Toyota Avalon and the Ford edge and I no longer have the Toyota. They Toyota Avalon should not be on my credit I only had the car 6 days. Therefore, I will also need both cars taken off my credit IMMEDIATELY so that I am able to go to a more reliable dealership to get a vehicle. This has caused me a great deal of stress and anxiety because I am being forced to drive an unsafe car due to me being given an illegal safety and emissions test. Also when you call and ask for the shops number they say they don’t have one. This company is very unprofessional and selling desperate people unreliable cars with a promise of a reliable vehicle should be illegal and they should be shut down. We do not sell our vehicles with a warranty, they are all sold AS-IS and that is indicated in the paperwork at the time of sale. However, we strive to maintain customer satisfaction with all our customers. In doing so, ********************* came in on 09/07/2023 and we were able to successfully trade her out of the vehicle she claimed to have an issue with and she purchased a new vehicle. I purchased a 2010 Dodge Durango and put down $4,000. I kept having issues with the car just stopping at lights. They didn't believe me and waited for almost a month. I got to the car lot and the car stopped. They allowed me trade it in for 2008 Buick Lacrosse. The check engine light came on immediately, so I took that one back as well. Now I'm in a 2008 **** Explorer and the check engine light came on. I haven't even had it a month. I got the alternator fixed and did regular maintenance done. I took it to the shop and they said it would cost $2,500 to replace the catalytic convertor. I called and was told the owner would get back to me. March 2023, I initially looked at a vehicle at JoeK used car lot on Manchester and it was not running properly. The salesman told me it needed a battery and a new tire. **** told me to give him a week and it would be ready. So I called him the following week he said it still wasn’t ready, it needs an alternator now. The following week I went to look at it, still wasn’t ready so I took a pictures of it.. I started looking at other vehicles.. Then while I was there the salesman said it was ready but they didn’t replace the tire so he would give me $400 off the total price. Long story short he did a bait and switch.. the alternator is not new, he didn’t give me $400 off and he added 2,000 to the price that was on the window that I have a picture of..someone else also heard him tell me he was giving me a discount for the tire that wasn’t replaced. The alternator, the salesman failed to provide me with proof that it is new..another mechanic told me it is NOT NEW. Also stated on the windshield it needed a NEW battery upon inspection another mechanic said this is NOT new either.. This company has several complaints, bad reviews, problems when I did some research after purchasing the car. While I was there they had a car lot full of suspicious repossessions now I understand why.Business Response

I am writing in response to the complaint filed by **** ******** regarding the contract entered between her and Joe-K Used Cars. I would like to clarify that the contract is in full force and legally binding. However, as previously stated, we are more than willing to evaluate any mechanical concerns with the vehicle. We simply need Mrs. ******** to bring the vehicle down to our designated repair shop.
Furthermore, any increase in pricing was due to supply and demand in the current used car market. We want to assure you that we act ethically and fairly in our business practices.
We would like to settle this issue amicably and have attempted to contact Mrs. ******** to discuss her concerns, however, she has not responded. We are committed to customer satisfaction and are happy to write her a check for $400 to settle the matter.

I bought a 2005 Acura TL from joe k used cars on October 17, 2022. It stopped on me on the way home from the car lot, I put 3200 for a down payment and regret it ever since, it has been a nightmare they should be held accountable for selling these rejects they are calling cars, they are taking peoples hard earned money and savings on these junks, I have since then had this car in and out of their shop but this is strike 3 for me after it stopped once again on the highway I then politely called the lot assistant manager and told him what happened and I want my money back to come get it, (which it had to be towed because it will not stay fueled enough to drive), the shop people lie about driving it on the highway for 30 minutes without a problem, that is impossible so I told them do not bring it back to my address I do not want it anymore it is a headache!Business Response

you already have your title. We have a signed copy here showing that you signed it and picked it up. Yoou have to take all your paperwork the the DOR and pay your taxes and registration fees to get the title transfered into your name.
