              Illinois America Water left my family to live in stagnant sewage for 72 days! The main sewage drain failed on April 1, 2024; Resulting in approximately 2-4ft of raw sewage flooding my basement. Destroying everything. Appliances, HVAC system, storage items, clothing, and other items. They left my family to live with the fumes and insects for 72days! They tried to force me to clean the sewage up! They Destroyed my yard! The sewage was left so long it ate away at everything. I had to move my special needs son in family, it wasn't safe for him at our home. The sewage ate at the foundation. I've been left to live with no heat or a/c to present day. The bugs were so bad. Biting you while sleeping or trying to get into your nose, mouth, ears, or eyes. I had to sleep in my car some days. I got so sick, they said they were sending an emergency company, but then walked it back. Now they don't want to pay for anything. My house is destroyed, my life is destroyed! And they just keep playing games. They don't care.

              I would take away the one star rating if I could. Moved from ******** IL to ******************* IL. Cannot believe what I am paying for "city" water. My monthly water bill for my smaller home with just my husband and me is $220 average (higher in the summer months if we water). That is ridiculous!
