I was charged over $1300 dollars to replace a alternator when the average amount to replace a alternator for a 2008 Buick Enclave is between $400 and $650 dollars so they charged me more than $700 dollars over for a very simple job again here is a company who is taking advantage of the senior population.Customer response

***** ***** Complaint Number ******** these are documents to show that my vechicle is in top condition prior to taking it to Complete Automotive so why is this bill so high and why did they try to extort more money from me by saying that i had a huge oil leak when you can look at what the company said that,s been changing my oil for almost a year .These people should not be in business.Business response

Hi
We have looked into this claim. Mr. ***** was given an estimate of service and authorized the service amount. He had gladly paid for the service and commented on how much he like our facility and service. The Buick Enclave Alternator replacement is far from a simple operation. We have attempted to contact Mr. ***** several times, he has not returned any of our messages. I have attached an estimate from RepairPal showing that we are within their recommendations of cost. We are well aware of increased costs of service in the last few years.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:i have checked with several other auto mechanics and was told that the price that was charged to me for the service provided was outrageous and they only tried to contact me to get me to let them do more work for over $1,000 and i had to pay the amount only to keep my vehicle from being held hostage. This business is taking advantage of both people of color and people of age and should be shut down.
Sincerely,
***** *****Customer response

This is the only transportation that i have to get back and forth to doctors appointments and they knew that ,but even worst my monthly income is only $748.00 there,s no way i would delibertly just give these people this type of money when i can barley pay for my medication and rent .Over $1300.00 dollars to change out a alternater in under 8 hours is criminal.Business response

We have exhausted our resources in this manner. It sound more of an income issue rather a customer service issue. We have reached out with no response. There is nothing else we can do.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:there is no way that they tried to contact me to resolve this issue they only tried to contact me to get me to let them do more work on my vechicle so that they can overcharge me again. As for them to say that it is more of a financial problem with me tells you the kind of people we are dealing with by them degrading the consumer, thats really professional!
Sincerely,

Early August our 2005 Prius began exhibiting signs of hybrid battery failure. The dash lights that indicate hybrid battery failure came on and the car behaved as though hybrid battery was failing. We called Complete automotive and asked them if we could bring the vehicle to them to confirm the diagnosis and if they would work with a third party vendor to replace the hybrid battery if the diagnosis was confirmed. They said that they could and we dropped the vehicle off with them on Aug 8, 22 prior to leaving for a two-week vacation. While on vacation they called to tell us that the diagnostics said that the hybrid battery was not the problem, that instead it was the high voltage inverter water pump control valve and that we also needed new tires. All together, they told us it would cost us $3,200, but since the hybrid battery which they claim to have tested was in good shape they told us that the car despite its age would last us "another 100,000 miles". We paid the $3,200 and picked up our car after the trip. Less than a week after picking up the car, it began exhibiting the exact same symptoms. We returned to the car to the shop on 9/2. By 9/7 they had retested the hybrid battery and this time confirmed the hybrid battery had failed. Between 9/7 and 10/3 we received 0 calls, texts, or emails from Complete automotive. I called or emailed multiple times weekly for updates and was put off each times with vague responses about we don't know or we are still researching. It finally required both my husband and I driving to the shop on Oct 3rd and demanding they hand us our keys so we could take our car off the lot and get it fixed ourselves. They wanted to charge us double the cost (another $3500) to replace the battery that the third party vendor charged us to replace it the very next day. The same vendor who would have done the replacing on their lot. The same vendor who replaces batteries for them for other customers.Business response

I had wheel bearings repaired, as part of a differential overhaul. Less than 500 miles after the repair, the bearings seized up on the vehicle (truck). It made a horrible sound, destroyed the axle, welded itself on there. The axel had to be replaced. I had a warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles. Now they are not honoring their own warranty. They say that the cause of the failure is due to not enough oil. The wheel bearing broke. I paid approximately $3500 for the repair. This happened in Texas;Business response
