I have a rental property near this business that I've been working on and I have noticed lots of after hours and late night traffic behind their showroom. Loud partying, music and what sounds like gunshots on a nightly basis. If I were the owner, I would do definitely check out what's happening at your business after 8pm. It looks to me like there are people living behind your building.

      To whom it may concern,

As an East Coast Granite representative, I apologize for any inconvenience we might’ve caused anyone. It's important to understand that we are stone fabricators and operate as a commercial business that is located in a commercially zoned area.

More specifically, we are in an area specifically zoned for manufacturing, and by law, can be open 24/7. Our business was thoroughly reviewed and approved by the City of Springfield, as well as, the Springfield Fire Department before we began operating.

This is our busy season and some days we do work late to keep up with customer demand. Because we value our team and their hard work, I see nothing wrong with turning some music on for the guys in the shop as they work.

Additionally, we are located within the city limits of Springfield and I can assure you there were no discharges of firearms on our premises at any time of day or night. However, we do have an explanation for this type of noise. When we have a larger piece of granite that has to be disposed of, we have to take a sledgehammer and break it into smaller, more manageable pieces. That is a loud process and in the evening it may just be mistaken as something else. We also have a night guard that stays on-premises to ensure the safety of our team and our company.

As we understand, this property was vacant for over four years, which led to numerous issues that we have worked hard to correct for not only the benefit of our business but for the benefit of our community as well. Despite numerous break-ins and damages, we continue to work hard to better our neighborhood and community while operating a successful business, We will certainly do our best to keep everyone around us happy as we operate.

      Sincerely,

      East Coast Granite & Tile

I purchased a granite countertop with an overhang from East Coat Granite (ECG). The process is that the ECG sends a person prior to fabrication to look at the cabinets and take measurements. Then the granite is fabricated and installed. ECG did the pre-fabrication visit. Nothing was said about the existing cabinets. Then the granite was fabricated and installed by ECG. After it was installed I was informed by ECG that they did not install the overhang brackets because there was some issue with the cabinet. ECG could not tell me specifically what the issue was. We have sent phone calls back and forth to resolve the issue with no success. ECG has now turned the unpaid balance over to a collection agency. I'm now forced to pay the unpaid balance. However I still have a deficient countertop because there is no supports under the overhang.

Mr. ****** did purchased granite from ECG. He also purchased a steel plate for overhang support for his countertops. ECG offers one type of steel plate for overhang support. So in case our plates don’t work we will refund customers money and let them deal with their overhang support on their own.  This is a case where our plates did not work and we did refund him his money back right away. ECG uses an independent contractors to do their work for them.  Once an independent contractor related a message to Mr ****** & ECG about plates not working out, ECG refunded him his money. At that time Mr. ****** made a deal with an independent contractor about welding him some kind of L-shaped brackets for his overhang.  Mr ******s issue is that the contractor that ECG used to install his granite & contractor that he hired outside ECG, did not follow through with his promise to Mr. ******. Now Mr.****** is trying to get to him through ECG by not making a payment on his installed countertops. He made a deal with an independent contractor and when contractor did not follow through….Somehow Mr. ****** believes that ECG IS responsible for that. He did say that he has no problem paying but he wants the contractor to weld him brackets as he promised and install them. ECG did reach out to the contractor and asked him about the whole situation.  Answer we got was, “I am very busy but I’m gonna try and get them done”. That was three weeks ago.  ECG apologizes for the inconvenience. ECG also believes that they should not be held responsible for someone making a deal with someone on the side or outside ECG‘s control.
