I have been a vendor with Gigsalad since 2018. In that time I have been treated fairly with prompt responses to my questions or need for help. I trust them to facilitate the booking process and payment collection. The cost is more than fair for a small business and they provide the tools to link with my other promotional outlets. I recently moved across the country and they updated my information and within two days I was getting new leads in my new city. The follow up emails, reminders and support give me the feeling that they care about my business. I have worked with other companies similar to Gigsalad with less positive results where the monthly cost far exceeds the income I could produce.Thank you Gigsalad for making it possible for me to keep doing something I love.*****

I would stay far away from this service, they allow performers to just say it was completed when they dont even show up nor provide any follow up. Tried getting a refund but they said Nope, the performer said they showed up so they get paid. Youd think they would question someone with hardly any history and only one review but apparently they do. Only way to get a refund is a charge back. STAY AWAY

Hi *****, we wanted to take the opportunity to correct the misinformation you've shared here. The singing telegram you booked tried to complete the performance for your child. However, the adult guardian at the address was not comfortable with your attempt to contact the child via a singing telegram and dismissed the vendor. Since the vendor made every effort to complete the booking, we were obligated to release their payment. The recipient of a singing telegram cannot be forced into accepting the service, and that's no fault of the vendor or GigSalad. Thank you.

Gig salad advertise itself as a lead Generation site for various entertainers across the country. As an entertainer, I signed up with them so I could recieve clients information(which I pay a Quarterly fee for) to contact them and try to book shows. What they don't tell you is, that you are Actually treated as if you were a talent, at at a booking agency. They control the money flow they Collect the money and they disperse the money, In their own time manner. They issue agreements and contracts with the clients that you've never read, and will not release your money until you have agreed to their agreement. They guarantee a full refund regardless of the situation, if the client cancels, once again as a member, I have no say so. I am given no contact information, even when the client agrees to book. I am not allowed to talk to any of the clients until after the booking process. Now they will tell you, I have taken advantage of their free membership for the last few years as few years. I will just let you know now, I have never booked a show with them until now and I have also paid numerous times for their leads. When you sign up it It is not indicated that they will take control as an agent would not not as a Lead generating site! I pay for leads not an agent, not a accountant and certainly not a HR department

Hi ****, we wanted to clarify a few things. GigSalad does not act as an agency - we are a third-party payment processor. When you sent your potential client a quote, you were giving them an opportunity to book you and pay your fee in full. Your client booked you, so we collected payment from them and were ready to disperse your requested deposit. Instead, you scolded your client for booking you with GigSalad and told them you refused to fulfill the booking. Keep in mind, every action you took, from setting a cancellation policy to sending a bookable quote, was handled by you. GigSalad simply collected the funds on your behalf. After a few heated interactions with our customer service team, you requested to be removed from our platform, and we complied.

I've been promoting my service as a pianist through GigSalad for about a year and a half, and I've been very pleased with the results! Their platform provides a nice level of security and confidence for both parties, and I don't think I could better reach potential clients without significantly more cost and effort. The one time I needed to speak with their customer service people regarding some confusion with my account, they were very pleasant to work with and everything was resolved efficiently.

I am extremely disgusted at GigSalad for not standing up for women's safety. A client booked me last minute for what he said was a "dinner party." He did not inform me that his party was actually a men's night. Most performers in my field do NOT perform at all-male events for our safety. I sent the client my contract, which includes all of my stipulations, including that I do not perform at all-male events. I told him to read the whole contract and sign it before booking me to ensure that he agrees with all these stipulations. It is clear in capital letters and bold text that I do not perform at all-male events. He signed that agreement and booked me for the event. When I arrived at the event, there were only men there. It is completely shady and disrespectful to see that I do not perform at all-male events but still let me arrive anyway. This is a safety issue. The event was in the basement of a private residence. Fortunately, when I drove past the house, I saw all the men outside smoking. Imagine if I had not seen that and walked into the house unaware that it was all male. I left the event, after driving an hour there, spending money on gas and time preparing. I sent GigSalad the signed contract to prove that he was completely aware that I do not perform at all-male events, but decided to disrespect my policies anyway. GigSalad sided with the client and gave him a full refund. When I complained to the "customer happiness agent," she was completely condescening and even sided with the client. She had no concern for my safety as a woman. In the age of the MeToo movement it is completely shocking that she and GigSalad have no concern over female performer's safety and side with a male client who lied about his event. What would have happened if I had gone inside and was assaulted or harrassed? Clearly, GigSalad would have still sided with the client. When I complained to her about GigSalad's blatant disregard for performer safety and my agreed upon stipulations, and that I would take it further, she retaliated against me by unlisting my profile. One other performer in my field in another country was recently murdered. She was hired by a client to perform at an event. When she arrived, there was no event at all, and the client killed her. I'm not accusing my client of such a thing, but these are the kinds of things we female performers must consider. And GigSalad does not have our back. We like to use sites like GigSalad because when the customers pays them it provides us some security. But what I have learned was that is a false sense of security.

We're saddened to see that you feel this way. GigSalad absolutely supports women's (and all performers') rights to safety during their gigs. Our Customer Happiness Agent explained multiple times that we have no problem with our vendors leaving a booking if they are uncomfortable. However, if a performance isn't completed, then the client is refunded in full. As a belly dancer, we completely understand why you wouldn't want to perform at all-male events. If that's the case, those details should be clearly stated and discussed long before a quote is sent to the client so there is no question about the booking. In this case, there was no mention on the GigSalad messaging threads with your potential client that you don't perform for all-male events. While it was on the contract that you sent him off-site, we cannot take responsibility for actions taken off our platform. Your booking contract with us simply stated the date, time, and price and did not include any terms or services to be provided. Had those stipulations been made clear on the platform, we would be able to uphold your claim that the client violated the contract and potentially offer you compensation. The decision to remove your profile was not in retaliation for your complaint. It was removed because you stated multiple times that you refuse to use our booking platform going forward, which is a violation of our terms of use. It's clear that our platform is not a good fit for your business needs, so we felt it was time to part ways. We wish you all the best.

This comment is not true. Had the customer service agent said "I completely understand, and I agree this client was shady, but we have a policy to always refund the client. Please let us help you ensure this doesn't happen again," then it would have been a completely different story. Instead, this customer service agent acted as though it was MY fault for being put in an unsafe situation. And acted as if it is completely normal for a man to hire a female soloist to dance in front of a bunch of men in the basement of a townhouse. It should just be common knowledge that we don't do that, it is creepy. That shouldn't have to be spelled out to adults. I had a legal and binding contract with the client. But this customer service representative continued to say that our agreement does not count. And continued to lie and say the customer never knew, despite the fact that I sent GigSalad the contract with his signature. And it was clear my safety does not count to this particular customer service agenet. When I told her that the only way I knew that it was all-male was because I happened by luck to drive by when they went out for a smoke break, she said nothing. She never said, "I'm sorry to hear that, this client sounds shady. Let me do what I can to make sure this doesn't happen again." That is why I was mad at this particular customer service agent. Based on her logic alone, I told her, it makes more sense to book outside of GigSalad if GigSalad will not protect me. Had this been booked outside GigSalad, the client would not have had a refund, as we had a written agreement. Did she say "We don't want you to do that, please let me help you make sure this doesn't happen again?" No. Instead, she retaliated against me for calling out these flaws in the system. That is not how customer service is supposed to work. She did nothing to try and resolve the situation. I have been with GigSalad since 2016. And she chose to side with a one-time client who lied about the nature of his event, read my contract that I do not perform at all-male events and let me go to his house under false pretenses. The fact that this particular customer service agent sided with a disrespectful man like that is what I was mad about. Instead of working with me to make me feel safe, she continued to be condescending and side with the client. If GigSalad does not want us to email our contract, then GigSalad should have a contract page on the site where we can copy and paste our contract into the site that also allows the client to electronically sign it. A booking receipt is not a full contract. Our contracts are two pages long with multiple stipulations about how music should be played, tipping policies and about changing times. On GigSalad, we are given about 5 sentences for our bio, a place to send a quote, and a small message section. That is why we email our contracts. If there is a way for us to get a two-page profesional contract on GigSalad, the customer service representative should have explained where that is. GigSalad should also ask clients if it is going to be an all-male ******** front. And if the vendors can have a note at the top of their name stating that they can do virtual events during the pandemic, then there's no reason why GigSalad can't provide a "doesn't perform at all-male events" option. All these things could have been addressed on the phone call had the customer service agent not been condescending, and had actually been concerned for my safety.
