      Business response

We received customers payment on ******* for *************** and submitted her order immediately to our magazine clearinghouse on 5_15_24.  We apologize for the delay in receiving your *************** but there is a longer process with mailed subscriptions as opposed to online subscriptions.  After you have mailed your check and renewal offer to us it may be in the **** mail system for up to a week or more.  Once we receive your mailed order, we process it withing two days and forward the order to our magazine clearing house.  They then bundle all the various magazine orders and forward them to numerous publishers.  The publishers then process the magazine orders and submit them to their printers where it is printed and eventually mailed to the subscribers.  So, the first delivered issue of a magazine order to your mailbox is a fairly lengthy process.

We have a no questions asked refund policy  we will mail her a full refund of $118 on 7_5_24.  We anticipate she will begin receiving the *************** she ordered through us shortly.

File No *************** I received an offer to renew *************** from Publisher Clearing Services, LLC. I sent them a check for $118.00 in April, which was cashed. I've tried finding the subscription renewal and could not find it. I sent a letter on May 24, 2024, requesting to receive the 2 issues that were not sent. I feel like this is a scam. The information said if you are not happy, they will issue you a refund within two weeks. I have not even received an acknowledgement that they received my letter. I would like a refund. Is this company scamming people?

We received customers payment on ******* for *************** and submitted her order immediately to our magazine clearinghouse on 4_26_24.

The customer indicates she mailed us a letter on May 24th 2024 requesting a refund which she complains she has not received yet.  Since here letter was mailed less than ten days ago, we have not received it yet.  However, we have a no questions asked refund policy so even though we have not had time to receive her refund request letter, much less send her a check, we will mail her a full refund of $118 on 6_4_24.  We anticipate she will begin receiving the *************** she ordered through us in several weeks.

We have reviewed ****************************** complaint regarding non-delivery of her magazine.  Our records indicate that we just received her order on 4/16/24.  We remitted her order to our clearinghouse on Monday 4/18/24.  We received this complaint on 5/1/24.  That leaves the publisher 10 days to receive, process, print and mail via the **** to deliver ****************************** magazine to her address.  That is impossible to accomplish by ANY magazine company.  If ************************** does not receive her magazine by 25 days from today she can email us on our customer service email address and we will mail her a full refund.

In October 2023, I received and responded to a solicitation to extend my ***************** subscription. I sent a personal check in the amount of $118.00 to Publisher's Clearing Services (PCS) dated 10/23/24 which was promptly cashed and clear my bank on 11/2//23. My original subscription was scheduled to expire in Nov 2023. By early December I realized that I was no longer receiving the magazine and placed a call to PCS (no way to actually speak to anyone) and left several messages. In early Jan 2024, using their website, I sent a message explaining the situation and sent another one in mid ************** I wrote a letter to them w copies of the check and proof of it being cashed on Jan25, 2024. I have never received any type of response nor my magazines. What I have received are additional solicitations from PCS to subscribe to ***************** in the amount of $118.00. This whole thing feels fraudulent to me with PCS deliberately trying to take advantage of an 80plus year old women. I now realize that I was never dealing with the actual publisher of ***************** but a scam company as I have subsequently have received offers from "People" at a price of $81. I would appreciate any type of assistance you can provide. Thank you, *********************** (PCS File# *****-0124-2-2)

      Business response

      Dear BBB,

Unfortunately, PCS customer service cannot locate ********************** letter from early 2023.  We are not implying that she did not mail us a letter, either we simply did not receive it or if we did, we mistakenly dropped the ball in responding to it.  In any event, we have already mailed ****************** a refund for $118.00 last Thursday check no: 2616.  She should receive her check shortly.

As for ********************** comment "This whole thing feels fraudulent to me with PCS deliberately trying to take advantage of an 80plus year old women...."  We take great exception to ********************** false and libelous statement. PCS is authorized to solicit over three-hundred magazine titles, with *************** being among them.  And PCS has absolutely no age demographic information on any of our subscribers!!

      Sincerely--PCS

We are unclear about ************************** complaint.  She states that that she paid $118.00 online for People Magazine.  We do not have any online presence so we are not sure who she actually paid for that subscription.  On the BBB declarations page she attached a copy of her auto insurance policy with Progressive auto insurance company.  In any event, she did subscribe with us via our mailed offer for People on 8/23/23.  She should have received he People by now.  Regardless--we do have an absolute refund policy so we are mailing her an check for $118.00 on Monday 11/6.  Sincerely-PCS.
