I took them a perfectly good stove to have the orfices replaced on them. He started Dec. 8, 2022, the stove blew up in my face inside the store, it didn't hurt me, it blew up twice, now they are saying my regulator is gone and can't be replaced. They won't give me my stove back unless I sign a disclaimer. He admitted he made the mistake twice. He kept putting me off and I said would it be better if I bring my appliance to you, he hooked it up and blew it up twice. I already paid him $100 and no one every came back to repair my stove. I would like for them to find me a stove like the one they tried to repair or refund me the money to fix my stove.Business response

******* ***** bought a used Maytag Gas Range Mod ********** for $100. She said she watched it work using natural gas. She only has propane available at her home. She purchased an orifice kit from the internet and planned to change the orifices herself. However, her insurance company told her they would not insure her if she did that. We worked on the stove at her house but could not get some of the parts loose due to excess grease. We asked her to bring it into the shop. She brought it and the orifice kit into the shop. The kit contained the orifices only and did not contain a new regulator. We replaced the orifices in the burners and the 2 ovens. The regulator could not be changed from natural gas to propane. The burners would not adjust properly and the oven would not light. We attempted to light the oven but due to the regulator not being for propane there was an excess of gas in the oven that exploded when it did light. We talked to Whirlpool tech department and found out that the stove was an older model that could not be converted due to the regulator being for natural gas only. There is no propane regulator available for this unit.
We explained this to ******* and she told us that we would have to guarantee that the stove would not blowup at her house. We then told her that the stove would be disabled and she would have to sign that we would not be held responsible for any attempts to use the stove with propane. The stove is not physically damaged due to the explosion.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: I did not purchase the orifices online, the orifices came with the stove. The Maytag repair man stated that the regulator does not need to be changed unless it was damaged, they do not make regulator changes they make orifices changes. The thing blew up in my face the first time and I have a witness. They need to replace it or refund me my money.
Sincerely,
******* *****
