I went up to ****#**;s Discount Furniture to buy a sofa. The rep worked out a deal and I tried to get someone to pick up my old sofa the day before they were to deliver the new one. I talked with ****, the secretary at H35**3533363433**38H and gave her my debit card number and they took $160 from me. So ****#**;s Discount Furniture said they would be at my home on March 2, 2024. H35**3533363433**38H never called and finally that morning I get a call from **** and they said they would need to add another $160 to the bill to pick up my old sofa. I told her that I can**;t pay this so **** asked what can you pay and I said $20 and she said we would need at least $40. The day of picking up the old sofa came and they didn**;t show up. I called at 4pm and they said someone would be there until 5pm and no one ever called back. I called Bob**;s Discount Furniture to hold on with delivering my new sofa. Then H35**3533363433**38H called and said they would come in 1 1/2 hours. I called ****#**;s Discount Furniture and they said they could not deliver it to me at that time and I would have to wait until the next week. I am out of $200.00. I would like a refund of $40.00.Business response

We explained to **** that we had priced this accidentally as a curbside pickup which is where we thought he said the sofa was located. Once we called to confirm with **** we figured out it was in the house, and we explained to **** before we came out that we needed to charge $250. **** stated that he wasn't paying that much. We would have been more than happy to not do the job. Because of ***** persistence we went ahead and did it for $200 to be nice, which we lost money doing the job. He explained to us that if we would do it for $200 he would be happy. The morning AFTER the job was done **** called to request a refund for the extra $40 we had charged, when we already lost money on the job. We explained that we needed the $250 to barely break even and that we would not be able to offer a refund because we already discounted the job down to $200. This was the agreed upon price and we wish we could help further but that it would not be possible.
