We hired them to do a brick retaining wall. They required half down; $12,530 (paid by cashier&#**;s check)for the materials. We signed paperwork. They never did the job and we haven&#**;t hear from them since. We contacted his vendor and no materials were ever ordered. My husband went over to the business&#**; address; he wouldn&#**;t answer the door. We have also filed a police report. The business owner tried to file a claim with his insurance company saying that he didn&#**;t want to do the job any more and he would return the money. But he hasn&#**;t.Initial Complaint

I hired Extreame LawnCare on 7/20/2022 to replace my deck for $5,700.99. I paid $3500.99 upfront for materials. They tore off the old decking and replaced the flooring, posts, and one section of railing. On 7/24/2022, ****** said that he had the wrong materials and needed to re-order the correct lengths before they could continue. He expected to be back in 2 weeks. Based on the work that was already done, I paid ****** the balance of $2,200.00 (contract paid in full). ****** noted on my copy of the contracted that amount is paid in full and the remaining work to be done is rails and fascia. After ****** left, I realized that he did not leave the the caps on the posts, exposing the wood inside the vinyl, and rain was expected so I was concerned and left ****** a message requesting that they be covered. I left several messages but no response. I covered them myself but continued to call and leave message because 2 weeks had now passed. I contacted local police who also attempted to reach ******, unsuccessfully. And I sent an email to ****** on 8/29/2022. To date, there has been no response at all. Meanwhile, I contacted another deck builder who has advised that everything about the deck was done incorrectly. I suspect ****** abandoned the job because he realized he botched it. Now I am having trouble finding someone to correct and finish the deck because it is such a mess. I would like ****** to reimburse me for the materials that were not used or left, totaling $1,306.10 (marked with "x" on contract) as well as half the labor, for a total of $2,406.10. This will not be nearly enough to cover what it will cost for someone to fix the deck, but I don't know that price yet.
