Date of Transaction: 06/2022 - current as of 09/2022 Fox Heating and Cooling LLC, The Company, was originally contacted to perform air conditioning (AC) repairs in 06/2022. A technician of The Company came to evaluate and eventually replaced a blower in the AC. This repair did not resolve the problem, but it was not immediately apparent because the AC unit partially cooled, and the weather was slightly cooler for a few weeks. The Company was contacted again in mid-July for additional repairs. While The Company did not provide written estimates, we were told that AC parts would be covered under an existing warranty. The Company was able to look up warranty information by the previous owner, and we were assured the parts warranty would apply, and we would only have to pay labor costs, to which we agreed. The Company completed the work consisted of replacing a compressor and a valve, and the AC worked satisfactorily, although there was a significant water leak that required a technician to return to fix an installation issue. Over a month later, The Company notified us that the AC parts are registered to the original construction company so they would not be covered with a warranty. We find this peculiar for two reasons: 1) as previously mentioned, The Company was able to look up the AC unit by the previous owners, not the construction company, and B) we had been told the parts were under warranty. If we had known that the AC parts were not under warranty, we would have have chose to replace the entire unit that came with a warranty, and would have had a chance to seek bids from other companies.
