I hired Schrader Concrete and More LLC on July 4, 2022 to install a concrete walkway and pad at my house. The concrete walkway was poured on August 4th. I paid in full $3000. I still have not gotten the concrete pad in the back yard poured. It is only approximately 2.5 foot x 4 foot. I have texted, called, emailed, and messaged on ******** many times and have heard any response from the company since August 4th.

Unfortunately your statement is far from the truth. Work that was paid for was completed. Doing the small pad was going to be free of charge if there was left over concrete from the truck. I explained there was not enough left over to do the pad and I would come back and do the pad still for free out of the kindness of my heart. But before that could happen you reached out to **** to get government assistance for reimbursement from our work, saying it was work done because of the devastating flooding that hurt many homeowners in the st charles area. But the worl that was done was not because of a natural disaster. So I reached out for consultation from my attorney who then informed me, that what you were doing was fraud. After then speaking to **** myself they also informed me you were committing fraud. And they informed me not to do anymore work for you. So even though the work that was paid for was completed and to your standard, you're going to try and now make defamatory reviews about my company. And also claim work that was paid for was not completed. You did not pay for a small pad to be done. I was going to do it for free until you committed fraud to the government. If you'd like the pad to be completed I can recommend another company, but I will not be doing work for someone who's going to commit fraud.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The contract states that Schrader Concrete would install a 100 ft by 3 ft walkway and a 4 ft by 11 ft trash pad.  The owner of the company, ******* ********, explained to me that the "walkway" included the section that started at my driveway and went around the side of my house to connect to my existing back patio, and then the 2 ft by 3 ft pad on the other side of the patio.  It was all included as a walkway because it was all connected and part of the same path from the driveway to the new back door.  The pad was included in the price and was included in the contract.  The walkway that Schrader Concrete installed is only 81 ft long.  The walkway is 19 feet shorter than what I paid for.  The trash pad that Schrader Concrete installed is only 4 ft by 10 ft, so it is 1 foot smaller than what I paid for and what is in the contract.  ******* ******** has repeatedly promised to return to my house to complete the work, as recently as September 10th, but never shows up as promised.

The contract also states that the price for the work is $2950, and the payment schedule consisted of a payment of $1900 and another of $1095.  Those 2 amounts total $2995 and therefore Schrader Concrete over charged my by $45.

The contract states that the work must be complete by the end of 2022 or I will receive a full refund.  If these issues are not rectified, I expect a full refund of $2995 in January 2023.

Lastly, I applied for grant money and loan money from **** and the *** to cover mitigation costs to prevent future flooding.  In addition to the concrete work, I had a retaining wall, drainage and erosion control feature installed on my property by other contractors.  I submitted all my receipts to the agencies.  Schrader Concrete falsely accused me of fraud and is trying to prevent me from receiving assistance and perhaps legal issues in direct retaliation for filing this BBB claim against their company.

In sum, this company overcharged me, did not install the complete work as according to the contract, repeatedly promised to complete the work and failed to show up, falsely accused me of fraud to a government agency in retaliation of involving the BBB, and refuses to complete the work as retaliation for involving the BBB.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******
