Dear Better Business Bureau,**************************, a retired veteran, reporting a grievance against Cartime Automotive, DIberville, **. I bought a 2017 Jeep Cherokee on June 4, 2024, *********************, a sales representative of the dealership, assured me that the vehicle was in optimal condition, with all known issues having been resolved by their mechanic, including the replacement of coil packs and the resetting of the check engine light. The day after the purchase, I encountered a troubling issue: upon ignition, the vehicle expelled an excessive amount of white smoke from the exhaust, which lasted for about ten minutes. **********, when notified, insisted that this was merely normal condensation and reassured me that it would be addressed, directing me to their mechanic for inspection who, after a cursory examination, echoed the condensation narrative and reset the check engine light. In pursuit of a conclusive diagnosis, I took the vehicle to both Clarks automotive and Mandal Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for a second & third opinion. They Both confirmed the diagnosis of cracked heads and Mandal Jeep executed the necessary repairs, which amounted to $6,900.00. When I presented this bill to Cartime, they offered a paltry contribution of $500.00 towards the cost.I am now turning to the Better Business Bureau to seek a just resolution. The significant disparity between the assurances provided by Cartime at the time of sale and the actual condition of the vehicle is deeply troubling. It is my firm belief that it is reasonable and just for Cartime to bear a more significant portion of the repair costs, given the circumstances.Sincerely, ***********************

We could have gotten it fixed for way less than ******* but ************* insisted on using a franchise dealer. We sold the vehicle as is and were very clear about that. ************* was given the opportunity as all our customers are, to take it to their own mechanic before purchasing from us. The vehicle was sold AS IS
