At first the branch in ********** told me I was approved for 400$ I originally asked for 1500$ so i accepted it after being harassed for months about a guaranteed approval and then after i verified my income which was roughly about 3500 a month instead of 4500 that I put on the application they denied me?! After I depended on this loan I will be filing a complaint because I was told I was approved weeks ago!Review from Dylan d

**Complaint: ***************************** at *********************** - Kenner Branch**I am writing to file a formal complaint against Tower Loans in Kenner, specifically regarding the unprofessional and unacceptable behavior of managers ********* *** and ***************************.On Friday, as I do every week when I get paid, I made a minimum payment to my account. However, on the following Monday, I was told that if I didn't make another payment, my account would be pushed to collections. This communication was highly distressing, especially considering I had just made a payment.During my phone conversation with ********* ***, I attempted to explain my situation and express my concerns. Unfortunately, she repeatedly interrupted me with dismissive "okay, okay, okay" responses after every other word I said. This lack of genuine communication and empathy was extremely frustrating, leading me to express my anger, at which point she abruptly hung up on me.Attempting to resolve the situation, I called back to apologize and continue the conversation. However, ******************************* up on me again and subsequently refused to answer my calls, redirecting me to another manager, ***************************. When I asked for **********************'s name, *************************** refused to provide it. It wasn't until I visited the branch in person that I was able to obtain their names.This entire experience was profoundly unprofessional and unacceptable. I strongly urge Tower Loans to review the recording of this phone call and conduct a thorough investigation into the customer service practices at the Kenner branch. It is crucial that steps be taken to address this behavior and ensure that customers are treated with the respect and consideration they deserve.Thank you for your attention to this matter. I have reviewed the records of this account and **********************'s version varies greatly from the customers. In fact, prior to July 12th, the account in question was severely past due with no plan in place to resolve it as no payment had been received since June 6. ******************************** language towards Tower employee's is what lead to the phone calls being terminated. Tower will not tolerate repeated vulgar language from any customer. If ************************** would like to have an adult conversation, he may contact the branch manager at ************. TIn general at Tower, when an account continues to stay past due and there are NO payment arrangements offered or accepted by Tower to resolve the delinquency, an account will be referred for legal action. My review of records indicates Tower handled this situation appropriately based on the behavior and communication received from the customer.Review from Megan B

I initially used them in June 2023 and had no issues up until I moved out of state. To work on my financial restraints after moving I was needing a 10 day pay off quote. I called and spoke to ******* and he was very adamant that he could not email or mail me a letter with that quote. Finally, he agreed to mail and email me a letter so I could pay off my balance after I reviewed the documents. 2 weeks later I spoke to him again and he became aggravated as I informed him I never received that letter. I looked through spam, deleted, and my inbox with no letter. I asked him to resend it, in which he became aggressive and stated I was 3 months behind. I have receipt proof of my last payment made on 6/8/24. When I informed him that Im working to pay it off completely but need that later he rudely said its $54. At this point I did get irritated and stated I understand he is just doing his job and what I have going on with my finances doesnt concern him but Im trying to get this paid for completely and to send me the letter. He responded by hanging up on me. I will never use them again, the customer service is absolutely awful and instead of finding ways to help their clients they treat them poorly and become condescending.Tower Loan Response

Tower does not allow its manager to email customers. ********************** did receive a single payment on July 12, 2024, however the account continues to be past due and there were no follow up arrangements provided by the customer. Without proactive arrangements from the customer, ********************** has no choice but to contact the customer in an attempt to ****** those arrangements. My review of records does not indicate any wrongdoing by Tower.Review from Ja H

I have never done business with Tower Loan, yet they are calling me regularly looking for somebody I don't know. I've even tried calling them back and telling them I have no idea who it is they're looking for, only for them to call me yet again.Tower Loan Response

There is not enough information supplied for Tower to conduct a review. If the name of the person Tower is attempting to contact or the phone number Tower is calling could be provided, Tower should be able to identify the account and remove the phone number.Review from Lolitha M

Terrible company that lies. I was referred to them by a third party online - l NEVER gave my consent for them to run my credit but they did which lowered my score. I get an email saying l was approved for xyz amount for xyz payments of $133 per month all l had to do was sign my documents, send a copy of my license front & back, a pic of me holding my license, connect my bank account through CHIRP, speak with a representative who would call me then I'd get an email letting me know when the money would be deposited in my account. I did everything asked. Only to get an email saying l was denied. They could've said that before l sent my pictures, l signed the documents and connected my bank info! Was also told the reason would be sent by mail! Very shady company that gets ALL of your personal information just to deny you and lower your credit score WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT!!! I have screenshots of ALL OF MY EMAILS! If l could give no stars l definitely would. That's why they have such a high turn over rate in their offices - poor customer service.Tower Loan Response

******************** applied for and was denied a loan request after undergoing normal underwriting. There was no wrongdoing by Tower and she was fully aware that by applying for the loan her credit information would be obtained.Review from Karhy S

I live in ** and got a loan from Tower Loan ************** **. I never got a statement or anything from them for about a month. Finally they called and asked if I was the one that took out the loan. I told them I wanted to take it out automatically and would send them a voided check .Three weeks later they said they never received it so they sent a young man to get another voided check 2 weeks later they needed my bank account number again. Then I get a call saying they would take it out automatically on 21st of each month but they were going to take out 2 pmts. I pitched a fit and told him no. It was not my fault it was theirs for being so negligent. So today I get a call telling me they are going to change the date because the date he gave me the payment would be late and asked me if the 6th would be OK and they would take out 2 payment. I told her no way because it was not my fault and it was totally because they didn't do what they were supposed to do in the 1st place. Will never deal with Tower Loan again!!!Tower Loan Response

Tower verified the origination of this account via telephone on March 8, 2024 when ************** returned a phone call placed by Tower. Tower spoke with ************** again on April 10, 2024, and again went over the payment details. The loan disclosure attached to the Loan at Home check ************** cashed clearly and conspicuously displayed that "Payment Schedule: 15 monthly payments of $XXX.** each, beginning 30 days from the date of loan". ************** was well aware that the first payment was due in April, as the two phone conversations occurred prior to her first due date.Review from Danielle M

Do not deal with Tower Loan in Hammond. They are rude and very unprofessional. The manager doesn't listen to her customers. She was doing things behind a a lawyers back and not communicating with them and telling customers it can only be her way or no way. I tried to work with them and pay off my loan but she told me I had to deal with the lawyers even though they haven't even started the process. The lawyers end up trying to serve me even though I was giving Tower Loan money. When I reached out to the lawyers, they said they are waiting for the manager to get back with them. She never responded to them and called me with out telling me. She should not be manager and should not be handling money.Review from veronica O

I been harassing by Tower loan in Canton Ms They call me everyday all day. My Health is not good at all. I did call there supervisor I know that nothing be done I told him they call me back to back. Thank you for the information provided. Tower Loan (“Tower”) has been made aware by the Better Business Bureau (“BBB”) that the BBB cannot effectively protect information received by the BBB regarding information provided to the BBB concerning customer accounts nor will the BBB notify Tower of third party efforts to obtain such information. As this severely impacts Tower’s ability to protect customer information (as required by law) or defend itself from spurious complaints and attempts at mischaracterization by third parties Tower has no option but to no longer respond to complaints or reviews received from BBB. It should be noted that in general when Tower is made aware of potential customer dissatisfaction it will investigate the matter and take curative action directly with a customer. Tower operates over 230 offices in six states. Without providing excellent customer service this would be impossible. While Tower understands human error and misunderstandings sometimes occur, Tower welcomes, and is available for, discussions on all matters with its customers until an issue is resolved.Review from Brian M

Very shady company. I bought a trailer and financed through tower loan with 0 percent interest for 2 years. Paid the loan off in 2 years time frame. Apparently they lost the title during the loan time frame. Several months went by after it was payed off and I never recieved the title. Someone in the office finally told me they lost the title. It's been 20 months since the trailer was payed off. Still no title. I've been getting the run around for 20 months now. I was told they couldn't get the title. I called the DMV myself and they told me directly that tower loan could get the title. They definitely don't try to call me. Its always me having to call them to find out what is going on.Tower Loan Response

This complaint has been forwarded to the Area Supervisor for resolution. It is my understanding the required information has been obtained and will be filed with the DMW, tomorrow, after they are notarized. I agree with Mr. *** that the issue took entirely too long to be resolved. Tower has addressed the matter internally. I apologize on behalf of Tower for the delay experienced by Mr. ***.
