    This was my first time visiting Pine Belt Cheverolet. I was in for an Oil Change on 3/4/23 as i was visiting out of state. It was all good until i left their parking lot. I had checked out at the service counter like normal and drove off the lot. As i was driving i picked up speed and my hood of my car flew up and covered my windshield as i was driving!!! I heard a loud sound, came to, then realized i couldn't see. MY HOOD WAS NOT SECURE!!! It cracked the windshield, damaged my car and i pulled over. I called them back immediately, they came to tow it, and waited till monday to have the service manager call me on monday. Service Manager STILL HAS NOT SPOKEN TO ME AND SAID ANYTHING TO ME REGARDING THIS! i have been speaking to the service tech guys only and they have been getting info from him supposedly. The GM still hasn't called to apologize, nothing!!!! They told me that I had to file a claim with my insurance!!!!! Costing me a claim and rates increase!! This is SO UNACCEPTABLE. but i had to do it so i could get things moving. they towed my vehicle to a wreckage place where my insurance has deemed a total loss. Now i AM WITHOUT A CAR!! all i did was go for an oil change :( They have been saying this whole time (TO COVER THEIR BUTTS) that i had a faulty latch. Yes, i did say that it takes a bit to OPEN the hood, but NEVER in 4 yrs that i had it, was there a problem slamming the hood down to make sure it was CLOSED!! Sam and whomever the tech was NEVER NEVER mentioned anything to me about the hood hard to open, nor did they ever ever say anything about the hood to me when i picked up and checked out. Never did they mention anything about the latch to me UNTIL THIS HAPPENED!! Now Chevy is trying to cover it up saying that it's faulty to NOW CLOSE MY HOOD and i should have had that replaced!! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM OUT MONEY ON MY INSURANCE RATES AND NOW I HAVE TO GET ANOTHER CAR!!! all cause i went in for an oil change. Please call me to discuss.
