Entergy is terrible. Power is out all the time while jacking up prices on its customer. Take today for an example. Its sunny with no storms in sight. Yet, the power is out for many people in my area!Review from Antwon T

I moved from St. Louis to Mississippi, i went online set up new service for my apartment for the 04/26th, everything was good an hour later it was changed to the 25th, so i called into the call center and received great service was moved back till the 26th. Didn’t hear anything else about it until i got to my apartment 04/26 around 11am drove from St. Louis tired ready to move my stuff in and relax, no i got here to find out my electricity would not be turned on until 1pm, well i waited around moved some stuff in 84 degrees out, 1pm came and went i called into customer service requested a supervisor i was denied one and to call back around before 5 if they don’t turn back on, luckily 230pm came and the lights were back on. No other issues until 04/29 Monday morning 6am lights are out once again, i called thinking it was an outage and was told i don’t have an active account with them and the department to help me don’t open until another two hours i asked was i suppose to wait in the dark for two hours, she advised unfortunately that dept does not open for another two hours, attempted to get ahold of someone online and directs me to call in and like the previous rep said closed! This is the most frustrating and unprofessional company i have dealt with utility wise! I would recommend another company if you have the choice! Unacceptable, and sadly still waiting for lights again!Review from Sandra M.

I have been with this company all my life, with all of the name changes. I am paying for a security light in my yard and it has been out since September of last year 2023. The sad part about it is they are still charging me for the service. I asked them to take fees off my bill until the light is working. They tell me on several occasions they canceled the order. I have been patient. I am contacting BBB. ****** - MississippiReview from Rosie R

We have been waiting for weeks to have our temporary power changed over to permanent on a new home construction. The temporary power has been shut off since 02/01/24 according to the final entergy bill we received. When my husband originally called them to get permanent underground power to our house, they gave us a date of 2/12/24 and they were a no show, no notification at all. Subsequently we called a few times and got alternate dates. Monday 2/19/24 they were a no-show, no call again. Then promised they will come Thursday 2/22/24, and not surprisingly, they did not show up again. When we called Friday, 2/23/24 we was told they would be out there the same afternoon to get started and finish up Monday. The customer service person apologized - but off course, no one showed up Friday afternoon either. We are at this point not very confident that they will show up tomorrow, Monday 2/26/24 or anytime soon. So we hope that the BBB can assist since we are not able to resolve the issue. We are not sure how much Entergy is concerned about their paying customers since the reviews across the internet are really bad. Unfortunately there are no other options in the DeSoto County area, it appears that they have a monopoly on the power in this area.Review from Kathy N

It seems very unfair that we are penalized for having Entergy as our electric supplier. All others that are not an Entergy customer has fiber to the home. Why does Entergy not allow other companies to use there utility poles to run fiber to there homes. I believe that we as dedicated costumers are being done wrong. We cannot have different utilities now we have no chance for fiber. Do we not get the opportunity to have our children have quality internet. Do we never get to know what streaming service is for TV. This company is a Fortune 500 company traded on the open market and we can’t get fiber to the home. This is ridiculous.Review from Benjamin G

It should not be this complicated to pay an electric bill! At my old residence I would pay the “old school” way and mail a check which I must need to start doing again. After a lot of time trying to pay my bill online, I decided to call and pay by phone. I agreed to the payment and the call dropped as the operator was giving me my confirmation number. I also downloaded the app to try this way and keep getting: Notice. Something went wrong. Please try again. I’m not the type person to make a big deal of things and not a frequent reviewer. When I have it has been for good service at a restaurant, not a pessimist here, but changes need to be made to make it easier for us to pay our bills! Thanks!Review from H. M.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Entergy for the mishandling of my electric service transfer and the subsequent power outage that occurred, as well as the poor customer service response to the situation. This complaint is being lodged with the expectation that the Better Business Bureau will assist in mediating a resolution to the ongoing issues I have faced. On October 30th, I scheduled a move service to my new house address, and I received an email confirmation stating that the service change was scheduled and successfully moved. However, on November 8th, my power was unexpectedly cut off without any prior notification or apparent reason. Upon contacting Entergy to resolve the issue, I was informed that the move request had not been initiated, contrary to the confirmation I had received. I was told that a new account would need to be created and that a verification process, which could take up to three days, was required to restore my power. This situation has caused significant disruption to my life and work, as I am reliant on electricity to operate my home-based business. The delay in service restoration is not only inconvenient but is also incurring additional costs due to the need to relocate my business operations temporarily. During my attempts to resolve this issue, I spoke with three different agents, including supervisors, all of whom stated that there was nothing they could do to expedite the process. When I inquired about the nature of the verification required, I was met with vague responses and no clear explanation was provided. The lack of accountability and the inability to provide a timely solution is unacceptable. Entergy truly has a monopoly in the area which seems to contribute to a lack of urgency or incentive for Entergy to address customer issues promptly and effectively. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and a swift resolution.Review from Marc S

On October 25, 2023, Entergy went into my bank account unauthorized and withdrew $1,036 dollars. I had no payment due and was not signed up for autopay on my account. When I called Entergy to ask about this I was told to call back in 3 - 5 days to see if it had been fixed. If not, they'd start process to refund. I don't have 10 - 14 days to wait for my money they had no permission to take out of my account. If I did that to them I'd go to jail for theft so how is it right for them to be able to do this to me?Review from Latoya H
