Stay away from this dealership. I buy Toyota because of the quality of the product. I wish this dealership was a quality dealership, they are not. They utilize bait and switch techniques to drive sales. I found a 2022 Highlander online at Toyota of Jackson. It was exactly what I wanted so I ordered the new 2022 Highlander on 12/26/2022 from their salesman, ****** ****** and Manager ****** ******. The new 2023 Highlander was out but they had changed it to a 4-cylinder, turbo model. I love the Toyota 3.5 6-cylinder engine. I did not want the 4-cylinder engine. They told me that I had to wait as the one that I purchased was not built yet, it was pending delivery. They said it was in Texas getting wheels, etc. put on, but it would be at their dealership in a couple weeks. I signed a purchase contract, sent them a deposit and told all my friends and family about my new purchase. I was excited. I shouldn't have been. I was lied to. They called me on 1/5/2023 to tell me that the car came in and it was a 2023 with the 4-cylinder engine in it. The car that I ordered had a VIN number. I had bought a specific car assigned to the purchase, with a 6-cylinder engine. VIN number *****************. Stay away from this dealership. They wasted my time. Very disappointing. I hate liars, between the media, government, and now Toyota. I want honesty. I am sure that you do too. It doesn't exist here

I apologize for your disappointment with Toyota not being able to produce the product that we had earmarked for you. It clearly cost me a customer and might have the potential to cost more with the statements in your complaint. So I am every bit as dissatisfied with this situation as you are. Toyota North America sends products to Gulf State Toyota, and these are then sold to the dealerships, and we sell to the general public. Toyota of Jackson has NO control over which vehicle ultimately gets produced, and in this day and time with every retailer on the planet struggling with supplier issues, there are certainly products that can’t be produced for one reason or another. In addition, Toyota discontinuing the motor that you requested is also something else that I have no control over. As you can see from the correspondence below, we did plan to get the first vin number and we were JUST notified that the unit in the color and options and motor that you ordered would be unable to be made. I apologize again, but this is something that we had absolutely not control over. After reading your complaint alleging that we used bait and switch advertising and not a reputable company, that is simply not true. I have about 86 employees that come to this site everyday with the intention of earning customers for life and we strive to go well above what is expected from us. Prior to us contacting you with this news, my staff researched our entire 5 state area and couldn’t come up with another unit. The factory distributor gave us the vin number that we gave you and then for whatever reason, that vehicle was unable to be produced. I shared all this information with you on another review that your sent in and I feel that it was completely out of Toyota's control. They didn't get to make the vehicle, we didn't get to sell it so this was certainly not something anyone benefited from. We all would have been muich happier had we been able to supply you with the vehicle. With all of the suppliers running short of material in every production chain, we are all at their mercy as to what can be produced. But again, I think its quite clear that the vehicle not being produced had nothing to do with Toyota of Jackson. If I can help in anyway, please contact me directly at 601-********.
