On May 13, 2023, I had a trim, base color and highlights done in preparation for a once in a lifetime event. I had permanent hair color put in my hair with highlights. I was charged $330, which was higher than the prices listed on website. I took a picture as soon as I got home. I was pleased with the results. Within a week, my permanent color disappeared. Color has never just washed out of my hair unless it was a toner and not color. I went by to see her and she said the only thing she could figure was that I had metal in my hair from a previous temporary Clairol box semi permanent that I first used during the pandemic. It had not been used for maybe 3 months prior to seeing her for this color. That also washes out in 28 washes. I have also found no articles or research supporting this. What I have found is that it’s usually due to bad color or the porosity of your hair. I have colored and highlighted my hair for over 30 years and I have NEVER had a problem with a permanent color washing out. I only had to get roots touched up every 8-16 weeks. She offered to put darker lowlights in my hair, but also told me they would probably wash out too. She also wanted to charge me a “discounted” price of $150 for these lowlights. I already paid her $330 for permanent color which was NOT permanent color. I did send her a long text asking for a refund for the cost of the color and highlights. She has not responded. I sent a text a week later saying I would appreciate a response. She has not answered. Every hairdresser has always said I should wait at least 6 weeks between touching up roots. She wanted to put more color on my hair at 3 weeks. My hair has been overprocessed one time and it broke off. I could not take that chance before this huge event I was attending. I paid a fee which was more than advertised for a service that I did not get. I did not get the permanent color that I paid for. I have pics of receipt, web prices, hair the day it was colored and later if needed.
