Catalytic Converter complaint: ******************* did not tell the truth about bringing a complete catalytic converter. She brought the "ash" in a small plastic bag that she knocked out of the converter. We price converters based on numbers off of the converter.
We use an app supplied by our buyer that gives the value of each converter. When you knock the ash out of the converter it goes to a base price per lb. When you sell the ash we have no proof of where the ash came from.
She had only 1 lb. which brings a price of $5.00 dollars. Her ash was weighed on a state certified scale. She was informed of the weight and the price per Ib. at the time of the transaction. At that point she could choose to accept or decline selling the ash. She chose to sell the ash. Per Secretary of State regulations, all of the required information was taken for this transaction. She received a check in the amount of $5.00 for her ash.
She cashed the check the same day of the transaction. A copy of this check, receipt and transaction profile is included. She said she called Brookhaven Recycling Service about pricing on converters. They do not buy converters.
Copper complaint:
******************* claimed that she sold almost 50lbs. of #2 copper and she only received 04 per Ib. for it when the price was $2.50 per lb. She had 5 lbs of copper of which she was paid $2.50 a lb. for a total of $ ***** for her copper. She did have several other items on the ticket. Her total ticket amount was $26.28. Because she had copper, which is regulated by the State, we had to write her a check. We are sending a copy of the other items that she sold.
We have included all documentation on these 2 transactions.
