Pending Government Action
The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government’s allegations, which have not yet been proven.
On May 30, 204 the Michigan Attorney General filed a lawsuit in 30th Judicial Circuit Court for the County of Ingham in Michigan. The lawsuit filed against several tree companies, including Garrison McKinney Tree and Bridge Services, LLC, allege they deceived consumers seeking storm clean-up services. The suit alleges these companies were recruited by Canary Tree Services, a Florida-based company, to perform storm clean-up work in 2021 and 2022. The suit alleges these companies misled consumers about the nature of the agreements they were signing, the cost of the services, potential financial responsibility for costs not covered by insurance, and their legal rights and obligations.
On January 9, 2025 the business entered into a settlement agreement with the Michigan Attorney General's office to follow certain stipulations if they do business with any Michigan consumer. The parties agree that this agreement does not constitute an admission of guilt or liability. Settlement Agreement
