I woke up without power on 8/10/2022 due to a limb that had fallen and knocked down the weather head” connected to my house. Power company instructed me to find an electrician because they couldn’t fix that. Reached out to A&H and **** (One of the owners) told me he would ride over and check it out. **** observed the problem, stated that the wiring was ok and the weather head just needed to be placed back on the house. He told me he had to run to the shop to get what he needed (bolts and such). **** comes back about 20 minutes later. They were working for about 15 minutes when he comes back in and tells me that he was wrong, the wire was ripped out and needed to be replaced. He said they had to run back to the shop to get what they needed. 30 minutes later they return. It takes them about 30 minutes to have everything put back up so that the power company can run the line back to the house. **** hands me a bill for $584. This bill includes $300 worth of labor. **** never really presented me with an opportunity to ask about a breakdown of the charges, so when his secretary called to collect payment I asked for a better understanding of the $300 labor charge. The secretary stated that he had no idea how those charges broke down. I told him “surely I didn’t pay $300/hr for labor. That’s outrageous. They were here for a maximum of 1 hour but it was really about 45 minutes.” He said he would find out. He calls me back to tell me that I was charged $150/hour for two hours of labor. More than half of which was spent by **** driving back and forth to his shop because he didn’t have all of the necessary equipment. I felt this was absolutely ridiculous but of course as a consumer I have no choice but to pay. I let them know I was going to file a complaint because of the unjust charge for labor. The secretary told me to lose their number because they helped me in a “time of need.”Business response

On the morning of August 10, 2022 we recieved a call from a distraught person, ******* *******. He explained that he needed assistance with a power problem. I told him that we were extremely busy but I would talk to owner and see it we could assist him in this need. Shortly after this ****, one of the owners, came in and I explained the situation to him. He immediately called Mr. ******* and let going to his residence. **** assessed the damages and let to get the materials he needed to make repairs. Upon returning **** discovered that there were damages he could not see on initial visit. He had to leave and get materials and returned and made repairs (a service vehicle can only carry a limited supply of materials). We came to the aid of a person in need and look at how he repays our kindness.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The owner provided me a refund for 45 minutes of labor. This resolved my initial complaint. Pending the deposit of the check that was provided, I do feel that the issue was resolved
Regards,******* *******
