I bought a 2012 Audi A5 vehicle in full from them. I was given a 45 day sticker for temporary registration. About 3 weeks ago I started calling the dmv patiently waiting for my title to be there so I could get custom plates. They kept telling me the dealership was holding the process up. I called a couple times a week asking them the status. They kept telling me theyre working on it and theyd have it there soon. I was kind, patient and polite. Today 6/24/24 I called Steves auto, told them I was headed out of town and that my plates were due to expire on 6/29 and that I needed the vehicle to head out of town and needed to buy the registration. Got told theres nothing they could do and then got hung up on by one of the salesman. Then I met with ***** at 10am same morning and he was nothing but inconsiderate and rude towards me. Made all kinds of unnecessary comments and bullied me. Then I went down to the dmv shortly after, paid for registration but because I bought custom plates they werent allowed to issue me a new temporary paper due to the dealership creating a new one. I called Steves back and talked to ***** the title lady and got called a d*** and also was told I was lucky she was even printing me a new sticker, then got hung up on again. Upon arriving, ***** became very disrespectful, raised her voice at me and then slammed my paper on the desk and I left.

To the BBB and whomever it may concern:
State requirements allow 40 days to have any retail paperwork to courthouse.  And as you can see from the timeframe stated, you can witness is less than 40 days.  The state allows the 40 days to take care of requirements enforced by the state of ******** The title to said vehicle was a Wyoming title.  We are required by state law to get a Montana title issued, because Wyoming titles do not allow transfers to Montana customers.  Therefore, after taking care of the requirements on our side as a dealer, we then in turn, completed his transfer as a customer and took the title to the ********************** 8 days before the expiration of his TRP.  We have not ever held up anyones registrations.  We have never, in the 39 years Ive been in the retail automotive industry, held someones registration deliberately.
This young man that is claiming that we are unprofessional.was belligerent, disrespectful and rude to myself and my employees.   When he called me on Monday morning, I was at an oncologist appointment with my wife, who I left there, to take care of what he called a situation.  When I came to the office, and looked up his car deal, I discovered that his paperwork had already been delivered to the ***************************** on the 21st,, which was Friday.  I called the courthouse in front of him and left a message to call us back.
He in turn, went there and registered his vehicle with personalized plates which take longer than normal registration.  He called my office from the courthouse and said he needed a 90-day extension, because he had personal plates getting issued.  Which we the dealership issued him one.  In the interim, of this, he was very vocal and belligerent to 3 of my staff members including my title clerk/office manager.  And dropped the **bomb over and over to myself and staff.  I understand that young people think they are entitled to speak this way to people.  I wasnt bought up that way or my staff.  This young man was asked by my title clerk to speak to her with respect. If he wants respect he needs to give respect.  However, he stood over her at her desk trying to be intimidating.  Vulgar language as he will see in the future doesnt get anywhere in life and threats that he makes doesnt get him anywhere either.  He stated he was going to take down my business because he has 60k followers.  He said he was the next major social media influencer in the state of ********  I hope whoever reads this that knows him, will please post their opinions on this young man.  I am not here to belittle or shame anyone, but my staff and I have been nothing but courteous and professional throughout our careers.
      Thank you,
      *********************

On February 24, 2022, I first made contact with "JR", a salesman of ****************** to purchase a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse advertised on ******** for $7,700. I still have the messages on my ********. I asked him if the vehicle works and if it would make it 300 miles back to where I live. He said "runs great you would have no problem making it back." On February 25, 2022, I paid $204.00 for them to hold the vehicle for me until I could make the 300 mile trip to ********. I was also approved for a loan for $4,000 by *********************************** to help me purchase this vehicle. On February 27, 2022, I traveled to ********. Upon arrival, I took the vehicle for a test drive. I came back to the lot and as I was pulling in the vehicle died, but it started right back up. I told JR about the vehicle dying so he knocked the price down by $500. I paid $2,000 on my debit card and gave him $300 cash. I didn't make it out of ******** before the vehicle died. I was in the middle of the interstate. I attempted to jump start it, but it didn't help. I messaged JR and asked if he knew anyone that was open on a Sunday to look at my car. He told me to pull it somewhere safe and that he would have his guy come get the vehicle and have it repaired for me and he would have it brought up to me in ********** if it came down to it. Weeks later he tells me that the vehicle's engine is completely shot and that I need to come back to ******** to find another vehicle. I told them that I can't afford to make it there. I don't have a vehicle. I asked if they would give ****************** their money back and I offered to let them keep the $2,000 from my debit card. They refused and called me difficult because I won't come back to ******** for a vehicle that *** or *** not work. That's a long trip for me to make and it's not worth the risk of getting stranded again somewhere. I don't have the vehicle in my possession. They still have it there in ********. Please help. Thank you.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,

We understand the difficulty this customer has experienced.  Unfortunately  Steve's Auto Sales, *** had nothing to do with the sale of the or her purchase of said vehicle.  The only thing we share is a title clerk that works in our office.  They pay her separately to do title work for them.

Sas Home & Auto *** and Steve's Auto Sales, *** are two separate entities.  I have no control over their transactions.

At Steve's Auto Sales ,*** we take pride in the fact that we have served this community for the past 37 years.  If you have any further questions or concerns Steves Auto Sales, *** can address , please reach out to me at this email.  Otherwise the contact email for SAS Home & Auto is: *********************
