I arrived about 11pm on the night of the reservation. I was given the key to the room and entered. The attached photos show what I saw. I went back down to the desk and she was embarrassed that she assigned me to a room that was not cleaned after the prior guest. The rooms were all sold out. She sent me to the *********** down the street. I had the chance to book the Comfort Inn when selecting a room for the night. I did not do that because each time I have been to one did not go well. I have asthma. This hotel stunk bad of cigarette smoke in the lobby. The room smelled like heavy pot pouri trying to conceal something. I was unable to breathe and ended up with a sleepless night. The breakfast was fine, though both the apple and orange juices were empty so we had no juice for the morning. This is a typical Comfort Inn experience. I do not intentionally spend my money in bad facilities. I have never had a problem with Microtel.Initial Complaint

I reserved a night at the Mictotel and purchased cancellation insurance. When my mechanic stated that I should NOT drive my car to Bozeman for my event, I called to cancel my hotel reservation. I was told the diagnostic evaluation of my car was prior to reserving my room and therefore I would NOT be able to get a refund. I did not know this information prior. The insurance for cancellations is a scam. I then tried to move my dates and was told that was not possible either. This is atrocious. Not only am I not a loyal customer now, I am now disgusted by this business practice. To pay for insurance to cancel a reservation means you should be able to cancel a reservation. Please look into this and help others from being taken complete advantage of. Thank you!
