CS Roofing was hired to replace my roof and replace gutters in June 2020. The gutters have fallen off the roof due to them being installed incorrectly. The screws were broken off during installation and did not hold the gutters in place. The hole created by the broken screws have allowed water to run directly behind the gutters and under the shingles. The roof has several soft spots and weak underlayment. The shingles are not holding their material. I have severe water damage to the soffit and facia and also to the roof in general. I contacted my insurance due to the damage that has appeared and my insurance has denied my claim and has stated they will not cover any *********** claims due to the pre-existing condition that was not fixed by CS Roofing. The insurance inspected the roof in 2020 and contacted CS Roofing about the issues and they were never taken care of by CS Roofing.Customer response

We went and assessed the situation previous to this complaint and explained everything to her husband and a third-party contractor. After thoroughly going through everything both her husband and the contractor understood the situation and were satisfied with our work. The gutter in question that failed, failed because it's in a shaded area on the roof with no snow stops and excessive ice built up in the winter and snapped some of the screws. We offered to replace this section of gutter for her, free of cost, and she refused over the phone and hung up on us. It should be obvious just within the context of her complaint that she does not understand the concepts of roofing or construction and I don't judge her for that. She has just convinced herself that there are issues with her roof when there is not. They claimed we did not use ice and water guard; I peeled up shingles and showed them it was there. They claimed water ran around the gutters to their sheeting and that that left water stains and rotted their fascia and rafter tails. I explained that was next to impossible as the gutters were lapped correctly behind the drip edge. What did happen is at the time of this project they had a very old two-layer shingle roof and it had caused damage to the fascia and rafter tails. (We were not hired to replace the fascia, rafters, or soffit) Their insurance, rightfully so, denied their claim to cover the cost of getting new soffit and fascia after the fact. I talked to her insurance and the claim that they won't cover anything in the future is false. They simply won't cover soffit and fascia repairs this time around. The roof at the time of this complaint was barley 2 years old, Rafter tails do not rot through anywhere near that quickly. When we tore off her roof, there was areas of sheeting that needed replaced. We replaced the sheets we had to and always give the option for full sheeting replacement if the customer chooses to pay that cost. This roof was originally done with the old 7/16s wafer sheeting, this sheeting is certainly everyone's last choice as it is more pliable and "soft" feeling underfoot. Also, code most everywhere is 5/8s thick sheeting for the roof deck so its thinner as well which is why the customer believes there is concerns. However, the sheeting is in acceptable condition and dry, they should have no issues due to the sheeting. If they do ever have a new and real issue, I will very happily take care of them and honor our warranty. I do not see the point of refunding or replacing a roof that looks great and has no actual functional issues.Customer response

My insurance is not providing me coverage on my home roof. They see signs of rot and inadequate shingles. ****** is just making excuses. He knows that the roof is not done correctly. THERE SHOULD NOT BE WEAK/SOFT SPOTS ON THE ***** THERE SHOULD NOT BE ROT ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LAMENT. THE PARTICLES ON THE SHINGLES SHOULD NOT BE WASHING OFF AND SHOWING SPOTS. This roof was done crappy and ****** knows it. I can not get insurance coverage unless I totally replace the roof at my own cost. Why should I have to pay out more money inorder to satisfy the insurance when the insurance is telling me that the roof issue was not fixed when C&S Roofing replaced the roof. We do not understand his response because it is a terrible job and he is just trying to weasel out of his responsibility.Customer response
