I had this company come to my trailer to clean my furnace and turn it back on due to a plumber turning the fan off for the summer and not showing me how to hook it back up. They had my permission to come to my trailer while I was at work to clean my furnace and turn it back on. When I got home after they supposedly came to my trailer, I turned on my furnace and nothing happened. I called the company and they then informed me that I could not use my furnace due to a heating element that was out and that it was dangerous to use it and that I would need to buy a new one. No one from this business called ME, I had to find out that I needed a new furnace from them and only after I called to find out why my furnace would not turn on after they supposedly cleaned it and turned it back on. They did not clean the furnace. I had to ************ Share to be able to get a new furnace as I could not afford a new one and had it installed. I then received a **** from this company for $105 for cleaning, which they did not do, nor did they inform me why it didn't work until I CALLED, and they continue to **** me, adding on interest as they do, and now a threat to turn me into collection. What a HORRIBLE business practice!!!Business response

Our company was called 9/26/2021 to look at a furnace at ************************************* #**. Our fees are ****** and hour, one hour minimum per call. Caller stated that the gas was shut off in the summer and she wanted it looked at before she started the furnace. Time was set for a service tech to go to the house on 9/27/2021 at 2:00, she stated she would not be home and the door would be unlocked.
When the service tech arrived the door was locked and no one was home.
Our office called and left homeowner a voicemail that stated the tech could not get into the house.
The next day the homeowner called back and a new time was scheduled for 9/29/2021 at 10:30, again the homeowner will leave the house open.
While examining the furnace the tech found a crack in the heat exchanger. The furnace can not be turned on because carbon monoxide would enter the house. At that point the only solution was for the furnace to be replaced. No need to clean or fire the furnace because it was a hazard to run.
Our office called the homeowner and left a message on 9/29/2021 that the furnace had to be replaced.
When the home owner returned our call we let them know the furnace was bad and got an email to send them a replacement cost.
An estimate was sent out on 10/01/2021 via email.
On 10/1/2021 the homeowner replied to the email stating "There is NO WAY I can afford that. I have seen less expensive mobile furnaces online. Will you put in a furnace ordered from a reputable site? What will installation cost me?
You must know, my trailer is a **** mobile home. $3000+ is 1/3 of what it is worth. It is not feasible for me to pay that kind of money for a furnace. Is there anything else we can do??On 10/2/2021 a reply to the email was sent stating that we do not put in other people's furnaces. Explained that the estimate was for labor and material. Also stated we offer payment plans.
Our base fee is $****** minimum for a service call. We were at the customers house on two separate occasions but only charged her one time.

I am rejecting this response because: #1, they came to clean the furnace AND turn it back on. #2 NO ONE told me they didn't clean it. I got home and the furnace would still not turn on. #3 I had to call the business the next day to find out why it wouldn't turn on, and at that time was told it was not usable without any explanation. No one even went into detail about what was wrong. I had to call back again to find out what was wrong to get estimates on a new one. NO ONE told me I would still be charged for a service call. This was handled badly by them with no or miscommunication 100% of the time.I will agree to pay half this charge but will not be responsible for the entire amount due to the way it was handled and the lack of communication from this business to me as to what was wrong with my furnace, why no one contacted me after they came over and did not clean it and why, and how I had to find out MYSELF after calling them the next day to find out why it wouldn't turn on after they were here, and for continuing to **** me without any communication whatsoever.
