We have a signed contract with **** the owner of Big Bear Plumbing and he refuses to finish the job he is contractually obligated to finish (February 2022). Not only does he not respond to texts emails or phone calls, but the two times he did say he was going to complete the job he no-showed without telling anyone, forcing *** to wait at home all day hoping he would show up to do what he is supposed to finish. He is rude, a liar, and not even that good of a plumber. He has left us hanging and no recourse to get him to fulfill his contractual obligations.

      Business response

      11/05/2022

We were scheduled to arrive **** to install trim to *************** project. We notified ************** on the day of scheduled attendance to explain that we were unable to make it due to un-forseen events that needed addressed. We asked if we could reschedule for either Monday **** or Tuesday ****. ************* agreed to either of those days. On **** ************** sent a vast amount of text messages with threats of getting attorneys involved if we didnt promptly respond to him. I was unable to respond as I was in an area with no cell service. I received the threat messages once I got back into service. I was going to respond to give him a set time to complete the trim had I been given time to do so before threats began. The contract is of generic nature and is not filed in a court of law. There is no obligation on our part to complete the work as no transactions of payment have been rendered for this phase of the project. Our crew members have been subjected to very uncomfortable and alarming events with the fighting and screaming between mother and son, police officers and so on. This makes for an unsafe environment for my employees and we do not wish to continue to work at this residence.

Thank you for your time in this matter.

      Customer response

      Complaint: 18361688

I am rejecting this response because:

Copied are my text messages with ****.  I dont call 10 texts back and forth a "vast amount of texting". Also, I only HAD to text him personally as he was unresponsive to my mother, who was sitting at her house, ****************, all day waiting on him to show up.  He DID NOT contact her telling her anything about not coming that day, and when he replied to me he said that he "could either do it monday or tuesday" but would not give me an exact date and upon asking him to set one, he replied "its 6 on Friday, I am done working".  So how, if he is coming Monday, are we to expect anything when he will not confirm a time.  He is jerking us around, when he CLEARLY is not going to show up for any reason period.  We have been trying to get on his schedule for 2-3 months now to finish the job he quoted and signed a contract for.  He is a liar and he has no leg to stand on, we have everything documented.

There have been NO THREATS of ANY kind, but due to his non-repsonsivness we told him that we are looking into getting an attorney.  He is just a liar and does not want to do the job, and is making us suffer by dragging it out pretending that he was ever going to complete it, so we couldn't even get on anyone else's schedule.

He is NOT a good businessman period, or he would follow through on work he promised to do and NOT LIE ABOUT ANYTHING!  It's the lying that really ticks us off, and his response letter just goes to show what a skillful liar he really is.  Please contact us further for more documentation.

      Sincerely,

      *****************
