In March of 2020 we started a remodel process on our home. I was the coordinating principle as well as the home owner. We asked Thomas Plumbing to provide a bid for the work on our downstairs. The work was to include replacing copper piping with pex piping with the express written purpose of preventing frozen pipes. They did not provide a bid. Two weeks from our start date they informed us that not only did they not provide a bid to us but they would not provide a bid period because "We don't do that". We had no choice but to continue on with them as our plumbers because everyone else was booked and this was our primary residence. **** at Thomas Plumbing was a nightmare. The front office at Thomas Plumbing was a nightmare. They hid charges, messed up the work and then charged us for their mistakes. They did not put pex piping where they said they would, those areas were drywalled without my ability to check their work, and now, over the last 3 years, we have had our pipes freeze every winter. It has cost us repair costs in the thousands, time, stress, and has resulted in our house continuing to be incomplete. When I have asked them to come help us resolve this issue, they have either ignored my calls or messages, failed to show up for appointments (they will then tell me that I am wrong about the appointment time), and have been rude or dismissive.Business response

Please see attached copies of the original invoice and copies of our permits we pulled with the ****************, which shows completed rough inspection to code, other than 2 support hangers that needed to be added. When we were on site there was a general contractor there as well as ******************. We did tell *****************, as we do with all job such as his, we do not do estimates or bids, we bill hourly. At that point he could have hired someone else to get a quote. ******* that time I agree ALL of ******** was busy & scheduling plumbers was difficult, it's just the way it was during Covid, and still is to a point. Upon starting the job our lead plumber, **** who had 20 years' experience as a licensed journeyman at that time, explained that we would only be able to replace the copper pipe to a certain point, unless they were willing to tear our kitchen cabinets, walls and open up additional walls to access the water piping upstairs. So we roughed in new pex inside the conditioned space as far as we could reach, the upstairs the was not being remodeling and the homeowner did not want walls opened or to remove kitchen cabinets to expose the old copper plumbing for full replacement. We completed our work, up to the rough plumbing inspection. I searched the address to see which additional permits were pulled, I did not see a permit for insulation or framing & sheetrock. It is up to the homeowner or general contractor, which he had on site when our plumbers were working, to ensure the walls are insulated properly, to protect the structure. We were not called back to do the final work, and because of that we were not able to get a final inspection on the permit, but there are a few permits on this property that have not been finaled. On top of the claim the homeowner asking for resolution on a 4 year old project, which has held to our knowledge, this is the 1st notification ever received that there were issues, where is the pictures of damage, invoices for repairs made? Our portion of the project was done to code, passed inspection. I believe we did our due diligence.
