    I have to warn you about what happened to **. If I can help you avoid going through our nightmare, then it would be good. We hired Lanier Electric to consult with us as we are building a pool. We needed an electrician to advise us on what is best for our case. We all agreed that installing a new panel would be ideal, as it would look nice and sleek. My wife and I decided to supply the panel, as we didn't like the panels Lanier provided. But before we bought it, we asked Lanier to let us know if the panel would work. ***** (Lanier) approved the panel, so we bought it along with breakers. On the day of installation, ***** came with another guy, ****, and they said that I cannot use this panel because there are no 'feed-through lugs.' Interestingly enough, ***** admitted he didn't check this prior to installation, and they left. I had to search online to see if I could provide 'feed-through lugs,' and I found an adapter specially designed for our new panel. ***** confirmed that he could install it and the panel would work. On the day of installation, he installed the panel. A week later, he contacted us to let us know that *********** had not approved the panel, and we needed another panel, as they would cut off the power in the morning. When he called, we mentioned that we had already paid $2000 for the installation and another $800 for the panel. Then he became rude and said, 'If you want us to install the new panel that we bought, you have to pay. But you don't have to pay us; you can hire someone else. We are leaving and will return the panel we bought.' We believe that he exploited the situation to get more money out of us. He first said we had to pay for the materials and 4 hours of labor. Then he called back and said they would charge us for 8 hours, and we had to pay in advance. We had no other choice but to pay, as the alternative would be to stay without power for at least a week.
