First and foremost stay away from this company! If things don't go ok the owner ************************* will NOT work to resolve the problem. He will blame his workers, or you as the homeowner saying "I can't please you folks". Keep in mind our chimney DOES NOT WORK after we paid for services. You won't win in court (****** knows this from experience) because according to attorney's you need someone else in the chimney sweep field to come and testify. The chimney was also cosmetically unattractive after the workers were done. After a headache of a process with this horrible company I felt it necessary to leave a review to guide other homeowners in another direction away from Environmental Chimney Services. Bought our home and used our wood burning fireplace several times. We suspected it needed some maintenance when we noticed mortar would come off the chimney on the outside when we would have a fire. ************************* recommended a new stainless steel liner, new damper, new cement crown, and tuckpointing. After the job was completed we noticed right away that the tuckpointing was cracking and rough, and also didn't match the existing stucco pattern. Also the new crown was the texture of the plastic liner from the frame they made! We contacted ************************* and he came out and told us we were "too picky". He agreed to have his workers come out and try to smooth the work. They did come out and try but the concrete was set hard and they had a difficult time with the crown. The tuckpointing they didn't fix. We called ****** and complained. HE HUNG UP ON US! We called him back, he hung up on us again. Fast forward we later tried using the fireplace. We had smoke pouring into our home!! So the chimney not only looks unattractive but it didn't work!! We hired a stucco guy to fix the tuckpoint job. The way it was left we could not "cover" it with paint. We decided to give ****** one last chance at trying to resolve our non-working chimney issue. Big mistake nothing has been resolved.

I understand your frustration, however, as you are aware you filed litigation in this matter and the court agreed that we provided the repairs for which you contracted to have done properly and in accordance with the proposal we submitted. The review you have entered has many inaccurate statements. When I started a fire for you in your home it drafted well and had no problems. Also, some of your statements here are unfounded due to a lack of knowledge, such as mortar falling off the chimney when used. That does not happen because you have a fire in the system. That's just simple weather conditions. But your statement does beg the question of your claimed non-use of the system. I sent you a book that I recently wrote and hope it helps in your understanding of chimney systems and hope you'll read it, and enjoy it. We wish you well.
