      Took a $500 deposit from me and cancelled my move days before the actual move. The owner texted me life is terrible right now. Thats all I got. I will be taking him to court. Beware he is a scammer!

      After my experience with ***** *** and ****** I highly recommend using another company for your move. I just used this company for a local move from Arden to Weaverville.They have showed me they are theives, liars, and do their best to avoid when you catch on to their unsavory actions. It's been days and still waiting for the real business owner ********* call back. He must be in a really terrible snowstorm. My first call to this company was to set up a date. I asked the man on the phone if he was an owner- he hesitantly said yes. Now I understand why. **** lied and said he was the owner now he denies this when a situation has arisen. That was the first lie I experienced here. To begin they had to reschedule me for the scheduled move due to unforseen weather circumstances. This conversation with **** was already questionable by they way he handled this situation. Not very pleasanr or professional. But I had a deadline to conquer-a lease ending and I we rescheduled the next day. He said maybe they could come on the following day then I asked if we can confirm a yes or no. He was saying maybe. Then when said will get a Uhaul myself he quickly said we will be there 9am. They arrived at 923am. No courtesy call to let me know. After packing up my very small apartment they took off for "lunch" and never reappeared to destination untill 1.5 hrs later. They also never parked the truck in front of these places unloading. Now I know why. My newer mattress and box spring were exchanged for a smelly, damaged mattress with holes, embedded wood splinters and urine stains. This bed is very old and worn-NOT my bed. The box spring and mattress never matched but now they do. They didn't communicate well at the home about where to place stuff and they lied about the timing on the invoice. The invoice does not align with the true timing of their "lunch" and arrival/departure times. ****** cannot look you in the eye. **** says they never get such complaints I am the first.

      Asheville Area Movers have redefined the term "caveat emptor". This company was retained to pack and move my 83 year mother from Asheville to **********. Her possessions were minimal furniture, but extremely valuable artwork. Obviously, the first question was insurance and we were assured, even asking for details, that they had full coverage for the move. They sent a packer to my mother's apartment in Asheville who was drunk and ultimately was found in the *****. Needless to say, the damage to my mother's artwork and antique furniture was extensive and as we later would learn, the insurance coverage was negligible. This company went completely dark and never stepped up to the plate to confront the situation nor would they respond to repeated requests to settle what was, ultimately, a $50,000 claim. We are suing them here in *******. "Caveat Emptor" folks, do not use this company.

      *****,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. As you know, AAM has acknowledged its full responsibility for the damages caused by one of our movers. The employee responsible had worked as a driver for us for several years and was a member of the recovery community. Sadly, he relapsed during your mothers move.The rest of your telling of this incident is untrue. We have made repeated good faith efforts to resolve this matter. Our cargo insurer, which ultimately picked up the claim instead of our general liability insurer, sent out an independent appraiser who found the total damages to 14 items to be $4,007. Your claim that the damages are in excess of $50,000 has no basis in reality and is an example of someone trying to take advantage of an unfortunate situation.Instead of accepting the $5,000 settlement check you were offered by our insurer (over the appraised amount), you have: (1) refused to pay your $5860 moving ****, and (2) threatened us with late night emails saying you have a battery of attorneys, who are going to eviscerate our company. We remain happy to help in any reasonable way possible but we are not going to cut a check for more than ten times the appraised value.Our insurance coverage not only meets but exceeds all ***** and NCUC requirements. As evidenced by our ****** reviews, an incident like this is as out of the ordinary as it is unfortunate. You have used us numerous times in the past and been completely satisfied, so you are aware of our ethics and typical quality of work.An unfortunate event has happened, but we have done all we can to resolve it. We have been in business for many years and have performed thousands of moves. On the rare occasions when we cause damage, we accept responsibility and strive to do the right thing.
