January 6th, 2022 $652.36 They were supposed to be repairing my steering wheel.In the process, they damaged my transmission gear selector. They have failed to handle my dispute.R/O number: *******Business response

************ came in for an Airbag Emblem replacement under a recall which doesn't touch the shifter. She picked up her vehicle and brought it back the next day (Friday) saying we had damaged her shifter k*** GM and myself decided to replace it even though it was caused by wear and tear, nothing to do with the repair, which was explained to her. Dodge has discontinued the part she needed, but we found 1 dealer that said they had one across the **, and was the only New piece we could find. Called ************, told her what we had found, and she wasn't happy about the wait. I told her we would contact them to overnight the part to us. Monday she called, unhappy it wasn't fixed. Explained that we are at mercy of the dealer and shipping as to how long it would be. ************ later came by saying she had found a used part at a local junk yard and said she wanted it. Tuesday, we received an email that the new part was missing from the dealer. At that point we sent our driver to buy the part she requested (from an 08 Caravan) and put it on. Called ************, told her we had proceeded like she requested and the vehicle was ready to pick up. ************ came to get her car and now is unhappy that it isn't a new part after requesting we get the used part so she can get her car back. The ****, 14 y/o at this point, is in better condition than the one she had, its the only matching part we can find, and it is exactly the piece she requested. While we were discussing this matter, she then accused us of damaging the front bumper, which hadn't moved since she parked it. The vehicle in front of hers has a blown engine and hasn't moved in 2-3 weeks. The damage to the vehicle has aged, not a fresh incident. She accused me of taking advantage of her being female and elderly after I repeatedly tried to explain to her that I was doing everything possible to make it right with her. At no point during this transaction did we charge her for any work performed.
